When Pratap Bhanu become King

Jai sri Ram,
When Pratap Bhanu become King, a proclamation to this effect was made throughout the land,

He looked after his subjects with utmost care according to the lights of Vedas and there was not a speck of sin in his kingdom,

The prime minister was devoted to the king like anything, Army of the king was great all the way and king rejoice to see it,

Number of battles were fought and all hostile kings were brought to their knees by superior might, by the strength of his arm be reduced all the seven sections of the terrestrial region and let the princes go on payment tribute,

Jai Sri Ram,
There had been a state known in the name of Kaikaya, SatyaKetu was the king of that state,

He was virtues by nature, storehouse of political wisdom, glorious, amiable and Powerful,

He had two sons, Elder one was known as Pratap Bhanu and the other one Arimardhan, limit of strength and might,

To the elder son, king resigned the throne and withdrew himself into the forests for the sake of devotion to Sri Hari,

Amaravati, the city of immortals,

Jai Sri Ram,
Cherishing in their mind the image of the Lord who is so compassionate to his devotees,

The wedded couple stayed in that hermitage for some time more,

And dropping their body, when the time came, without the least pain they went and took their abode in Amaravati, the city of immortals,

This Most sacred legend was related by Shiva to Uma, yet another  cause of Sri cause of Sri Rama's birth,

Jai Sri Ram,
Hearing of such exploits with reverence blessed men shall cross the ocean of worldly existence, renouncing the feeling of meum and arrogance,

The Maya, who is no other than my primordial energy that has brought forth this universe-she too will manifest herself,

In this way i will accomplish your desire and this pledge on mine shall never, never, never fail,

Repeating this again and again, the glorious lord vanished out of sight,

Asking this boon, the king remained clasping the lord's lotus feet till all merciful Lord Said___

Let it be so---Now, Obeying my command go and dwell in the capital of Indra-the chief of gods,

Having enjoyed extensive enjoyment there you shall, after sometime, be born as king of Ayodhya; then, Dear Father, i will be your son,

Voluntarily assuming human guise i will manifest myself in your house-bodying myself forth with my rays i will perform sportive acts which will be a source of delight to my devotees,

let me not survive without you

Jai Sri Ram,
Hearing the soft, charming and excellent speech of Satrupa, the gracious lord gently replied,

Whatever desire you cherish in your mind i have granted, you should have no doubt about it, Mother-by my grace your uncommon wisdom shall never fail,

Bowing at his feet, Manu again said, Lord i have once more request to make-let me have attachment to your lotus feet, of the same type as one has for a son, no matter if anyone calls me a big fool,

Just as a snake even cannot live without the gem on its hood and a fish without water, even so let my life be dependant on you-let me not survive without you,

ask whatever boon you please,

Jai Sri Ram,
Then seeing Satrupa with her hands still folded, Lord said_

O good lady. ask whatever boon you please, O gracious lord, the boon which the clever king has just asked has appealed to me much,

But it is great presumption, my lord, even my presumption is liked by you, of friend of the devotees, you are progenitor even of Brahma and other gods, the lord of the universe and the supreme being who dwells within the heats of all,

Realizing this, my mind is filled with doubt; but what you have said is infallible, O my master, the bliss that is enjoyed and the goal that is reached by your own devotees, grant me your mercy, O lord-that very bliss, the same destiny, the same devotion, the same attachments to your feet, the same insights and the same mode of living,
