wedding of Uma and Shiva

Jai Sri Ram,
Shiva and Uma Kalyani enjoyed some new delights everyday and considerable time elapsed,

Thereafter was born to them a boy-swami kartikey who later killed demon Taraka in battle,

The tale of the Birth, exploits, glory and surpassing strength of Kartikey is known to the world,

Men women who narrate or sing this story of wedding of Uma and Shiva shall ever rejoice in their auspicious undertaking as well as during festive occasions such as wedding etc,

Shiva reached mount Kailash

Jai sri Ram,
Himvan then accompanied Shiva in order to escort him with great affection,

However Shiva sent him back, consoling him to various ways,

The mountain king returned home at once and summoned all other mountains and lakes,

He greeted them with due attention, gifts, polite words and great honor and allowed them to depart, No sooner had Shiva reached mount Kailash than all the gods returned to their respective realms,

Shiva proceeded to his Home with Uma

Jai Sri Ram,
Taking leave of her Mother once more, Uma Kalyani departed,

Everyone uttered appropriate blessings to her,

She often turned back to have a look at her MOTHER,

Her girl companion then look to Shiva-Having gratified all beggars-Shiva proceeded to his Home with Uma, all the divinities delightfully rained down flowers and kettledrums produced a charming sound in the heaven,

Bidding adieu to all the ladies

Mena quotes-why has God created woman in this world,

One who is dependent on others can never dream of happiness,

The Mother was overwhelmed with emotions but knowing as she dis that it was not appropriate moment for betraying one's weakness, she recovered herself,

Mena met parvati again and again  and fell down clasped the girl's feet; her supreme love was beyond all words, Bidding adieu to all the ladies Parvati Ran and clung to her Mother's breast once more,

Jai sri Ram,
I revere the lotus feet of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and bestower of wishes,

I revere the lotus feet of Sri Hanuman, the supreme servant and messenger of Sri Rama that takes good care of devotees of Lord Rama,

I seek to propitiate the  lotus feet of Mother Sita-most benevolent by nature that fountain of mercy that care the devotees of lord Rama like anything

I adore the lotus feet of Lord Rama who has lotus like eyes and wields  bow and arrows and who relieves the distress of his devotees and affords delight to them,

Jai Sri Ram,
Mena, with her heart overflowing with love, clasped his lotus feet and said,

Lord. Uma is dear me me as life; take her as a maid servant of your house and forgive all her faults, Be please to grant this boon to me,

Shiva comforted his mother in law in many ways and she returned home bowing her head at his feet, the mother then sent for Uma and taking her in to her lap gave her the following excellent advice,

Ever adore the feet of Shiva this sums up the duty of a wife-her husband is her deity, there is no other God for her, as she spoke these words, her eyes filled with tears and she pressed the girl to her bosom,

The Ocean of Mercy

Jai sri Ram,
Men-servants and maid servants, horses and chariot, elephants and cows, raiment, jewel and various other articles and even so card loaded of Food grains and gold utensils were given as dowry, which was more than one could describe,

Himachal gave presents of various kinds as dowry;then, joining his palms, he said I have nothing to give you-you have all yours desires sated,

He could say no more and remained clasping the feet of Lord Shiva,

The Ocean of Mercy Lord Shiva reassured his father-in-law in every possible way,
