Jai Sri Ram,
I Bow to the lotus feet of my Guru,

Who is an ocean of mercy,

Whose words are sunbeams as it were for dispersing the mass of darkness in the form of gross Maya,

I greet the pollen like dust of my preceptor, refulgent, fragrant and flavored with love,

May the Lord who ever sleeps on the ocean of milk,

And who is swarthy as a blue lotus,

And has eyes resembling a pair of full blown red lotuses, take up His abode in My Bosom,

May the crusher of cupid, Bhagwan Shiva, whose form resembles in color that jasmine flower and the Moon, who is the consort of Goddess Parvati and an abode of compassion and who is fond of the afflicted, Be Gracious,

Who carries on his shoulders the head of a beautiful elephant,

Who is repository of wisdom and an abode of blessed qualities, shower his Grace,

May that merciful Lord, whose grace enable the dumb to wax eloquent and cripple to ascend an inaccessible mountain and who burns all the impurities of Kali age, be moved pity,

Who is responsible for the creation, sustenance and dissolution, removes the afflictions and begets of all blessings,

I Adore Sri Hari, known in the name of Sri Rama, who is superior to and lies beyond all causes,

Whose Maya holds sway over the entire inverse including gods from Brahma downwards and demons, whose presence lends notion of a serpent is entertained with reference to a rope,

I revere the Goddess of Speech and Lord Ganesha, the originators of sounds represented by the alphabet, of multitudes of objects denoted by those sounds, of poetic sentiments as well as of metres and the begetters of all blessings,

I Greet Goddess Parvati and her consort, Bhagwan Sankara, embodiment of reverence, and faith respectively, without which even the adepts cannot perceive God enshrined in their very Heart,

I Make Obeisance to the eternal preceptor in the form of Lord Shiva, who is all wisdom, the resting on whose brow the crescent moon, though crooked in shape, is universally adored,

I Pay homage to the king of bards and the chief of monkeys, of pure intelligence, both of whom sport in holy woods in the shape of glories of Sri Sita and Sri Rama,

Lord Shiva to Uma, listen Uma-blessed is the family, worthy of adoration for the whole world and most hallowed too, in which is born an humble devotee of illustrious Rama,

I have narrated, Girija, the story of sri Rama, which wipes out the sins of Kali age and removes the impurities of the mind,

Girija-daughter of mountain king was greatly delighted at heart to hear the whole narrative and replied in pleasing tones,

By the grace of my lord-yourself-my doubts have disappeared and my devotion to sri Rama's feet has been renovated, by your blessing, O Lord of the universe, i have attained the object of my life, unswerving devotion to Sri Rama has sprung in the heart and all my afflictions have ended,

Again and again i ask

Delay no more-O Good Sage but apply the sacred Mark on the forehead of his majesty as a token of Sovereignty,

Sri Rama took his seat thereon, the whole host of sages was overjoyed as they looked upon the Lord, Sage Vashista first of all applied the sacred mark himself and then directed all Brahmans to do- the mothers were transported with joy, large number of kettledrums sounded in the heaven,

O king of birds the beauty of the sight, the uniqueness of the assembly and the delight of the occasion each defied description-Having severally hymned the lord's praises the gods returned each to his abode,

Again and again i ask only this boon of you----be pleased to grant it, O lord of Laxmi---unceasing devotion to your lotus feet and constant communion with your devotees,

How can he have killed the lord of Lanka, Too delicate of Body are my two boys, while the demons were great champion of extraordinary might,

As the mother looked upon Lord with Laxmana and sita, her soul overwhelmed with supreme felicity and the hair on her body bristled up again and again,

Vibhishan Sugreeva Nila Jambvan, Angada and Hanuman and other monkey heroes-who were all of a virtuous disposition, had assumed charming human forms, with great reverence and love all applauded Bharta's affection, amiability, austerity and discipline,

They bowed their heads at Kaushalya's feet, who rejoiced to give them her blessing, adding you are dear to me as Rama, auspicious oman of every description occurred, many of the Brahmans spoke in endearing terms, Sri Rama's coronation will bring delight to the whole World,
