The lord rewards with everlasting victory, wisdom and worldly prosperity those men of good understanding who listen to the stories relating to the victory of sri Rama in battle, ponder well and see for yourself-O my mind, this age of Kali is the very home of impurities, there is nothing to fall back upon in this age, other than the name of the illustrious Lord of Raghus,

Seeing all the women making lamentation Vibhishan approached them with heavy heart, Lord thereupon gave  an order to his younger brother, Laxman him in many ways, Vibhishan returned to Lord, who looked upon him with an eye of compassion and Said abandon all sorrow and perform the funeral rites, in obedience to the lord's command he celebrated the obsequies, strictly observing the scriptural ordinance and with due regard to time and place,

After offering to the deceased handfuls of water and sesamum seeds Mandodary and all the other queens returned to their palace, recounting to themselves the host of excellences of sri Rama,

 On hearing the Lord's command, they entered in City and Seated Vibhishan on the throne and applying an scared Mark on his forehead as a token of sovereignty,

Then Lord Called Hanuman and Said go to Lanka, thereupon Hanuman entered the city made obeisance in lotus feet of mother Janaki, Sri Sita Said, listen Hanuman, my son, may all commendable virtues abide in your heart and May the lord of Kosala with Ananta, be ever gracious to you,

The moment Mandodary saw her Lord's head, fainted in grief and dropped to the ground, His other wives too sprang up and rushed to the spot weeping and supporting Mandodary they all arrived where Ravana's remains lay, widely beating their bosom and weeping, they recounted his glory-at your Might--my lord---the earth ever shook, fire, the moon and the sun stood before your splendor, none had the courage to confront you in Battle, doomed to the death you heeded not my words took the ruler of all animate and inanimate beings for an ordinary mortal,

You Took for a mere man Sri Hari himself, a veritable fire to consume the forest of demon race and did not adore the all merciful, to whom Shiva, Brahma and other gods do homage, 

This body of yours had taken delight from its very birth in harming others and was sink of multitudinous sins yet Sri Rama has absorbed you in his Own being, I BOW HIM, the immutable Brahma,

My Lord, there is none else so gracious as the divine Sri Rama who bestowed on you a state which is difficult even for Yogis to attain,

Hanuman lifted him without any exertion and after placing him at the main gate of Lanka returned, The moment Ravana heard the news of Meghanada-dropped senseless, citizens smitten with grief, every one abused Ravana, Ravana then consoled all the women folk in various ways, Ravana Summoned his champions and said, he whose heart quails before the enemy in battle had better withdraw even now; relying on the strength of my own arm have i prosecuted the war and shall give befitting reply to the enemy who has invaded us,

So saying, got ready his chariot, overweening pride he took no heed of omens, demon host defied all calculations, marched, was maddened with lust for war, most furious, flinched not, unrested the monkeys and bear, attacked Laxman with fierce lance, it was tough for him to take on Hanuman, warriors fell here and there like trees on its bank and abandonment marrow of their bones represented its scum, Ravana thought himself that demons have been wiped out and i am left alone, create illusion, Rama then cast his glance on all and spoke in meaningful word, watch now my dual-for all of you, my heroes, are extremely tired,

Sri Rama warn Ravana with advice but, Ravana laughed,you teach me wisdom---you did not shrink from waging war against me, now it seems you hold your life very dear, Rama drew the bow string right up to his ear and let fly his terrible darts, which sped forth vibrating like so many serpents, again and again lord tore off his heads and arms but they grew afresh as soon as they were severed, There Ravana tries to Kill Vibhishan through terrible lance-Rama saved him like anything, Vibhishan pose strong contest by the grace of Rama alone, Perceiving Vibhishan exhausted Hanuman takes it and treat Ravana severely,  It was tough for Ravana to face Hanuman, thereupon sri Rama tore off his heads and arms-more than once, but----Kick of Jambvant was miserable for Ravana to bear with-he fell unconscious, end of the day which induce fear in the heart of sri Sita, Trijata called on sita and told her the whole story-renewal of enemy's heads and arms, then Trijata Relates the truth unto end of the Ravana,

It was concluding day of that chapter, Vibhishan reveal the truth of the Ravana that nectar abides in the depth of his Navel, by virtue of it-Ravana survives,...........Sri Rama drawing the bow string up to his ear, let fly 31 shafts which flew like the serpents of death, one arrow sucked up the depths of Nael, while the rest struck his ten heads and arms, Sri Rama killed Ravana, while dying he shouted with loud and terrible roar-where is Rama that i may challenge him and slay in battle, expanding the two halfs he dropped to the ground,,,, after depositing the arms and heads before Mandodary, the darts returns to sri Rama. gods and sages rained down flowers, shouting Glory-----Glory to the all-merciful,

When Meghanada recovered from swoon, felt much ashamed to find father before him, speedily betook himself to a convenient cave and resolved to perform a sacrifice which would render him invincible, Here Vibhishan approached and relate the things to Lord Rama, Lord summoned Angada and said go with Laxmana and wreck the sacrifice and it is for you to Laxmana kill him in battle,

Laxmana said with voice deep in thunder that if i return today without slaying Meghanada, let me no longer be called servant of sri Rama,

Arrived there and found him squatting and offering oblations of blood and other to the sacrificial fire,

There had been terrible roar again and again from both sides, driven by the wildest fury he can and shouted, Laxman saw him coming life manifest death himself, he let fly fierce arrows, Meghanada vanished again and again through his Maya and Manifested with a new chapter for self, a tough battle was on, Laxman said to himself that i have played this demon long enough, recalling the might of Sri Rama, he shot at, struck Meghanada full in the breast and demon abandoned all false appearances at moment of death,  He gave up his ghost with words, where is Rama's younger Brother, where is Rama, is on his lips, Blessed indeed is your Mother------Exclaimed Angada and Hanuman

Lord Shiva continue, Girija-is it ever possible that the lord who is all pervading abode of the universe and whose name-when repeated enable the hermits to cut asunder the bonds of existence, should fall in bondage,

The doing of sri Rama when appearing in an embodied form, cannot be logically interpreted by the powers of reason or speech,

Jamavant gave severe treat to Maghanada, repeatedly dashed him against the ground thus showed him his strength, by Virtue of Boon however he died not for all his killing, thereupon Jamavant seized him by the foot and tossed him into Lanka,

There Celestial sage Narada dispatched Garuda, who too no time seized and devoured the whole swarm of snakes created by Meghanada's demonic power, spirit of joy revealed in monkeys and bears,

Ravana made much lamentation, clasping  Brother head to his bosom again and again, women wept and beat their breast, paying tribute to extra ordinary majesty and strength,

At that junction Meghanada came and consoled his father by narrating many stories, see my heroism tomorrow, i need not make any pretentious  statement just now,

Next morning Meghanada extended his Maya and terrified the enemy in various ways, he had turned every rugged valley, path, mountain cave into a variable aviary of arrows, he confronted the lord himself, the arrows he let fly turned into serpents even as they struck Sri Rama,

Lord allowed by himself to be bound by a snare of serpents, even though the gods were dismayed at this sight,

Bharata heard pleasing words, rushed and came posthaste by the side of Monkey, seeing monkey swoon, he tried every mean to bring him back to conscious, monkey relieved of all exhausted and pain, as the words of Bharata entered his ear,

A thrill of joy ran through his body, heart overflowed with love, Hanuman told the episode in brief and take leave-extolled to him again and again, and proceeded to Sri Rama,

There sri Rama lamented in diverse way, invincible Rama exhibited the ways of human being only because, is compassionate to his devotees, Hanuman arrived-transported with joy Sri Rama embraced Hanuman, Sushain  immediate applied remedy and Laxmana cheerfully rose and sat up, Lord clasped his brother,

There Ravana relate all story to Kumbhakarna, Kumbhakaran felt sorry---having carried off Mother of the universe and expect good out of it, Having feasted and drunken Kumbakarna meet the fate of his Truth through the hands of sri Rama, Sri Rama killed Kumbhakarana in battle,

A vast number of champions as powerful as Meghanada strove to life him but how sesa-the support of earth be thus lifted, Now that it was evening both the armies retired, sri Rama asked-where is Laxmana,

Meanwhile Sri Hanuman Brought him, seeing his younger brother in a swoon, left lord distressed, Jambvant Asked Hanuman to to fetch Sushen-physician lives in Lanka, Sushen Came and bowed head at Sri Rama,Sri Hanuman departed, Kaalnemi-the other name of death dispatched by Ravana to settle score midway but Sri Hanuman Killed him, as alligator turned celestial entity guided sri Hanuman unto truth of that Mimic,

sri Hanuman Found Mountain but the herb, lost no time in uprooting the mount itself and dared back through Arial root, Bharata ever keep vigil notice espied a colossal coursing through, thinking some demon drew-struck him with shaft, Sri Hanuman dropped unconscious on the ground crying Rama, Rama,

Ravana's maternal grandfather Malyavan spoke words of high wisdom but,

Meghanada thereupon exclaimed in a fury---see what wonder i work the next morning,

Meghanada challenged Sri Rama and Laxmana,  Where is Nala and Nila-where is Vibhishan,

Meghanada staunch in flight, now roared like a lion, Hanuman challenged him to a dual but demon dared not come nearer, he knew the real strength of sri Hanuman, Evil minded demon displayed his demoniac powers-Laxmana march forth in fury-Laxmana Meghanada grappled each other, neither could be better of the other, Laxmana was none other than sesa, Smashed chariot of Medhanada many a times, over turned him again and again but the boon was his protective shell, When Meghanada felt his end near-he used mystic skill of boon to struck Laxmana at his breast,

Sri Hanuman and Angada thundered on the battle and demons fled at their menacing roar, But the monkeys and bears seized the demons warrior in their flight and dashed them to ground or hurled them into the ocean,

Some were killed, some more wounded, while others scampered away and clambered the fort,

Perceiving that it was now night, all the four divisions of monkey host returned to the camp of Lord,

Ravana said to his ministers that monkeys have disposed of half of our forces, tell me at once what should be adopted,

Having Crushed and battered the enemy's ranks by the might of their arm and perceiving that end of the day, two champion jumped down without exertion and came to Lord Rama,

Sri Rama glad at heart to see two warriors, Numerious warriors retired from the feild, while demons recovering strength with nightfall, son of Ravana Atikaya and Akampan perceive their troop losing ground, employed Maya that illusive devise,

Seeing dense darkness all round Monkeys host thrown into disorder, Lord Understood the secret of it all and drew His Bow with smile and forthwith let fly a flery dart,

The Bear and moneys were relieved of their fatigue and rid of all fear when saw the light again,

Lanka became a scene of great uproar,

When Ravana heard it, said with smile, look at the insolence of these monkeys, have crossed over here driven by fate and my demons are hungry,

Armed with bows and arrows as well as others weapons of various kinds, a vast cloud of mighty and valiant demons, staunch in battle, clumped up the battlement of fort,

Catching hold of a demon each monkey rushed back and jumped down to the ground, strengthened by sri Rama's might, the monkey host crushed the ranks of the demons warriors, the two monkeys let loose their fury against the enemy on the battlefield, invoking in their heart the might of sri Rama, both ran up to Ravana's Palace-proclaimed the victory, the two heroes crushed their adversaries one against another and pulling off the victim's heads, hurled them with such precision that they dropped in front of Ravana and burst like so many earthen vases,

You of your sons have been slain and capital has been burnt, retrace your step even now, adore sri Rama,

There Rama summoned Angada, who came and bow his head at the lotus feet of sri Rama,  Gracious Rama most politely seated him by his side, ask-It is rather Strange that you tossed four of Ravna's crowns to me, my son, tell me what device you were able to lay your hand on them,

Listen O Lord, the delighter of suppliant,they were no crown but four virtues of a king, they themselves came to my lord, sri Rama received the news of the enemy and  summoned all the company commanders and issued instructions, thus roared the Monkeys and bears, surpassed in great might, like many lions,

Mandodary Said, ponder in your mind, my beloved Lord, and abandon perversity, your conflict with Lord Rama is quite out of place,

His younger Brother had traced a thin line that too you could not cross, Such is your valor,

Do no expect to conquer him in battle, whose messenger performed such feats,

Sri Rama is not just worldly king, known him to be ruler of animate and inanimate, the might of his arrows is known to Marica but you did not heed his words, try to recognize him who has, having slain Viradha, Khara, Dushna, killed Kabandh in mere sport and disposed Bali with a single arrow,

Angada said, your Lanka is life a fruit of the udumbara tree, while you are like so many unsupported insects that resides in, a monkey as i am, i would lose no time in eating, but gracious Rama has not given me the order,

Ravana smiled to hear this witty remark--fool where did you learn to tell such big lies, Bali never boasted like this, it seems the association of hermits.

Recalling sri Rama's might Angada grew indignant and firmly planted his foot, in the midst of assembly----if you can but stir my foot-----O Fool---Sri Rama will return forthwith and i shall forgo Sita as a lost wager

Ravana Exclaimed, seize the monkey by the leg and dash him to the ground, Employing numerious devices by great warrior but Angada's foot refused to stir, Myriads of great warriors arose and swooped down but the foot of Monkey did not budge, Ravana himself now rose, proceeded to grasp his foot, Angada said-you cannot be saved by clinging to my feet----fool----why do you not go and clasp sri Rama's feet, Ravana turned back much abashed at heart, Angada turn Back to sri Rama but Ravana, Mandodary again spoke and adviced Ravana but.

The Monkeys fled when they saw the crown coming, Lord Smiled and said, be not afraid,

The crown of Ravana dispatched by Angada, that are coming this side,

Ravana cried in fury, seize monkey, Angada smiled, said to Ravana-i am capable of smashing your jaws but no command from Lord Rama,

You dare utter such wild and sharp words, O stupid monkey, has no strength, glory, intelligence or majesty at all,

The demons devour day and night many such men as he of whose might you have proud, realize this O fool, and cease to be perverse,

When he thus inveighed against Sri Rama, the monkey chief grew furious with rage,Gave a Loud yell, struck his Mighty hands against the Ground, The Earth Shook, The Ravana too was about to topple down but recovered,

I would have smashed your jaws and taken back sita by force, I am messenger of sri Rama's servant, if i were not afraid of insulting Sri Rama, i would have wrought this wonder before your very eyes,

 Dashing you on the Ground, exterminating your army and laying waste your town, O fool, i would have taken away Janaki with all your wives,

Ravana Said-listen O fool, i am the same mighty Ravana, the spot of whose arms is familiar  to mount Kailash and whose valour is known to Shiva, in whose worship i offered my heads as flowers,

The prowess of my arms is known to the guardians of eight quarters, even as i walk, the earth shakes like a small boat, i am the same Ravana, known for his might all over the world,

You belittle that Ravana and extol a mortal man, Barbarous monkey, O puny wrech, i have now fathomed your wisdom,

On hearing this Angada replied, how can sri Rama be a mortal, you arrogant fool, is the god of love a mere archer, is the Ganga a mere stream, the cow of plenty a mere beast, the tree of paradise a mere tree, the gift of food an ordinary gift, nectar and ordinary drink, Garuda-just a bird, Vaikuntha just a sphere, is Devotion to sri Rama an ordinary Gain,

It seems true that the monkey set fire to your capital without receiving an order from his master, is why-did not go back-remained in hiding,

All you say is true, if a lion were to kill frogs, will anyone speak well of him, though it will be derogatory on the part of Rama to kill you, Angada burnt the enemy's heart with shaft of speech,

Sri Hanuman gave me a true account of your partiality, He laid waste your garden, killed your son, set fire to your city, yet he did you no wrong,

Tell me Ravana, how many Ravana's there are, one went to nether world to conquer Bali but tied up in the stables by the children, thrashed him, another again a strange creature-brought him home for the sake of fun, sage Pulastaya secured his release, yet another-i am as to tell you, was held tight under Bali's arms, be not angry Ravana but tell me the truth which of these may you be,

I too heard of your piety, which is evident from the fact that you have stole away another's wife,

I have witnessed with my own eyes the protection you vouchsafe to an envoy,

When you saw your sister with her ears and nose cut off, it was from consideration of pity that you forgave the wrong, Your piety is famed throughout the world-i too am very fortunate in having been able to see you,

Pirate no more you stupid creature but look at my arms o foolish monkey, listen Angada tell me which warrior in your army with dare encounter me, Rama has grown weak in separation from his wife, his younger brother share his grief, you and Sugreeva are trees of river bank, My brother Vibhishan is cowrd by nature, there is one monkey no doubt-of extra ordinary might-who came before and set fire to the city,
