Now I am too old and not a particle of my former strength is left in my body, when Sri Rama, the slayer of Khar-Dushna assumed the form of Trivikram in the name of Vamana, I was young and possessed great strength both ways,

In his effort to make Bali captive the lord grew to an indescribable size, yet in less than an hour I devotedly take parikrama of lord seven times to feel blessed but now,

Angad said, of sure I will leap across but have doubt in my mind about getting back, then Jambvaan turn self towards Sir hanuman and said O Mighty Hanuman,

I see her, though you cannot; for the range of a vulture’s a sight is unlimited, I have grown old now or else I would have rendered some help to you,

He who can leap over the ocean having a width of eight hundred miles and is repository of intelligence will be able to do Sri Rama’s work,

Your wings will spout again-you will have to do this much alone that show them where sita may be,

Sampati said, take me to the sea shore, so that I may make an offering of water with sesame seed to my departed brother, I can help you only my instructions, by which you will succeed in recovering her you seek,

Having performed the after-death ceremonies in respect of his departed brother on the sea-shore Sampati narrated his own story,

Listen that in my youth age along with Jatayu soared in the heavens and approached the orb of the Sun, Jatayu could not bear the heat of the sun and came back, but I in pride advanced nearer the sun, and my wings scorched with inordinate heat and I fell to the ground with a fearful stream,

A sage, Candrama by Name{Moon}was moved with compassion when he saw me and taught me spiritual wisdom in many ways and rid me of my identification with body and help me out to recover from pains and said,

All the monkeys rose when they saw vulture, while Jambvaan felt much perturbed at heart, Angad reflected within self and said,

There is no one so blessed as Jatayu, who laid down his life in the service of Sir Rama, and ascended to the abode of Lord, supremely lucky was he,

When Sampati heart it stirred him with mixed feeling sorrow for the death of his brother and joy that he meets with servants of Lord, he drew near to the monkeys, who felt alarmed by his presence,

Assuring them of safety he went and enquired them about his younger brother and the monkeys told him the whole story, as he heard of his brother’s obsequies performed by the lord with his own hands, he glorified the lord Rama in many ways,
