Hearing the words of Bhavani,

And perceiving her devotion and faith,

The sages were gladdened at heart, 

Bowing their head to her, they went to Himvan,

I revere the lotus feet of Sri Rama, the eternal preceptor,

Who is all wisdom, and a ray of hope for saintly souls,

Omnipresent truth with spirit of compassion to help diseased and helpless,

I make obeisance in the lotus feet of Sri Sita ji and Sri Rama on the auspicious occasion of sri Guru Purnima,

Betrays woeful

 Jai Sri Ram,

Your statement that Hara has burnt the god of love, 

Betrays woeful lack of thought in you,

Fire, my friend, possessed this inherent property,

That frost can never approach it,

Rapport with infinite

 Jai sri Ram,

To my mind, however, Shiva is eternally rapport with infinite,

Unbegotten, irreproachable, passionless, and without enjoyment,

Knowing him to be as such,

If I have served him lovingly in thought, word and deed, then hear, O great sages, the gracious Lord will accomplish my vow,

O great and illumined sages,

 Jai Sri Ram,

Sri Dev Shayan Ekadasi today, a meaningful chapter for devotees of Lord Vishnu,

A day to recall the pastime of Lord Vishnu in love with truth and the cause,

A day which provides bird eye view to aspirants in quest of truth and the cause,

A day which help devotees even out of proportion to rescue them from delusion of Maya,

 Jai Sri Ram,

Relying on the advice of Narada you would not heed our remonstrances then,

Your vow has failed now,

For the great Lord Shiva has burnt the god of love,

Hearing this, Bhavani Smiled and said_

Deceptive words

 Jai Sri Ram,

Brahma immediately sent them to the abode of Himvan,

They approached Bhavani in the first instance,

And addressed the following sweet yet deceptive words to her,

Relying on the advice of Narada you would not heed our remonstrances then,

Seven sages

 Jai Sri Ganesha,

The gods thereupon sounded their kettle drums,

And raining down flowers they exclaimed,

Victory, victory to the lord of celestials,

Considering it to be an opportune moment, the seven seers arrived on the scene,

 Jai Sri Ganesha,

Parvati has practised Penance,

The Magnitude of which cannot be estimated,

Kindly accept her now, 

Hearing the entreaty of Brahma and remembering the words of Lord Rama, Shiva gladly said, Amen,

Natural habit

 Jai Sri Ram,

O ocean of compassion, 

Having meted out punishment,

Good masters shower their grace as a matter of course,

Such is the natural habit,

glad event

 Jai Sri Ram,

They long to witness your wedding with their eyes, My Lord,

O humbler of the pride of love,

Devise some means whereby we may be enabled to feast our eyes on this glad event,

Having burnt the god of love you have done well in granting a boon to Rati,

Dominating impulse

 Jai Sri Ram,

To this Brahma replied,

Lord, you are the inner ruler of all,

My master my devotion to you urges me to make the following submission,

The heart of all the immortals is seized with a dominating impulse,

Shiva

 Jai Sri Ram,

Shiva, who is an ocean of compassion,

And has a bull emblazoned on his Standard,

Said, tell me, immortals, 

What has brought you here,

May Lord bless all,

Thence

 Jai Sri Ram,

Thence all the gods,

Including Vishnu and Brahma, 

Went where the all-merciful Shiva was,

They severally extolled and won the pleasure of the lord whose crest is adorned by the crescent,

Vaikuntha

 Jai Sri Ram,

Hearing the words of Shankara,

Rati went away,

I now proceed to relate the subsequent part of the story,

When Brahma and the other gods received all the tidings, they repaired to Vaikuntha,

Prayumana

 Jai Sri ram,

When Sri Krishna will descend in the line of Yadu,

To relieve the earth of its heavy burden,

Your lord will born again as his son Prayumana, 

This prediction of mine will never be untrue,

Meet him again

 Jai Sri Ram,

Prophesied as follows,

Henceforth, O Rati, your husband shall be called by the name of ananga,

He shall dominate all even without a body,

Now hear how you meet him again,

Easy to placate

Jai Sri Ram,

She approached Sankara,

And making loving entreaties in divergent forms,

She stood before the Lord with clasped hands,

Seeing helpless woman, the benevolent Lord Shiva, who is so easy to placate, prophesied,

Rati

 Jai Sri Ram,

The Yogis were freed from torments,

While Rati, wife of the god of love,

Fainted as soon as she heard of the fate of her Lord,

Weeping and wailing and mourning in the various ways she approached Sankara,

Striving

Jai Sri Ram,

The gods were alarmed,

While the demons were gratified,

The Thought of loss of sense delights made the voluptuary sad,

And while the striving Yogis were relieved of a thorn as it were,

May Lord bless all,

Third Eye

Jai Sri Ram,

Shiva then uncovered His third eye,

The moment he looked at the god of love,

Latter was reduced to ashes,

A loud wail went up through the universe,

Sri Ekadasi Today

Jai Sri Ram,

Sri Ekadasi today, a day of the light divine which may enlighten the truth of self for the cause eternal,

Apart from it, it may help devotees to rediscover self in context to fulfill aspirations,

Little by little imperfections and difficulties sidetrack the self, bliss of the self manifest for self to ease the day to day task of the journey,

And help spirit find joy even in mild and tiny tasks of self rather than exacerbating self to overcome them and ultimately paves the cool path for burning soul in friction with life,

The Trance

 Jai Sri Ram,

The trance was now broken and Sambhu awoke,

The Lord's mind was much agitated, Opening his eyes,

He looked all round,

When saw cupid hiding behind mango leaves, Shiva into a Rage, which made all the three spheres tremble,

Bow of flowers

Jai Sri Ram,

He joined his five arrows to his bow of flowers,

And casting an angry look drew the string home to his very ears,

He discharged the five arrows,

which smote the breast of Shiva,

numberless stratagems

 Jai Sri Ram,

The god of love with his army of followers exhausted all his numberless stratagems, 

Shiv's unbroken trance, however, could not be disturbed,

This made cupid angry,

 Seeing a beautiful bough of a mango, the god of love climbed up to it in a mood of frustration,

Beauty of the forest

 Jai Sri Ram,

The Beauty of the forest beggared description,

A cool, gentle, and fragrant breeze blossomed in lakes and swarms of charming bees hummed on them,

Swans, cuckoos and parrots uttered their sweet notes,

While Celestial damsels sang and danced,

May Lord bless all,

Delightful aspects

 Jai Sri Ram,

Woods and groves, wells and ponds,

And all the quarters of heaven assumed a most delightful aspect,

Everywhere nature overflowed with love as it were,

The sight aroused passion even in dead souls,

young trees laden with flower

 Jai Sri Ram,

Ultimately he resolved upon death,

And devise a Plan,

He forthwith manifested the lovely spring,

The king of all seasons, rows of young trees laden with flower appeared so charming,

Felt shy

 Jai Sri Ram,

He felt shy in retreating,

And was incapable of doing anything,

Ultimately he resolved upon death,

And devised a plan,

May Lord bless all,

spell of drunkenness is over

Jai Sri Ram,

All living beings regained their peace of mind at once,

Even as the intoxicated feel relieved when their spell of drunkenness is over,

The god of the love was struck with terror at the sight of Bhawan Rudra,

Who is difficult to conquer and so hard to comprehend,

sight of Shiva,

 Jai Sri Ram,

The wonder lasted for an hour or so,

Till the god of love reached Sambhu,

Cupid trembled at the sight of Shiva,

The whole world returned to itself,

Nobody could remain self-possessed,

 Jai Sri Ram,

For nearly an hour this wonderful game of love lasted in the universe,

Nobody could remain self-possessed,

The hearts of all were stolen by the god of love,

They alone could hold their own against him, to whom the hero of Raghu's race extended his protection,

animate and inanimate creation

 Jai Sri Ram,

Those who lately looked upon the animate and inanimate creation as full of Brahma,

Now Saw it as full the fair sex,

Women perceived the whole world as full of men,

While latter behold it as full of women,

under the influence of lust

 Jai Sri Ram,

Even Siddhas that spiritual adepts,

Great sages, who have no attraction for the world,

And Yogis give up their Yogas under the influence of lust,

Even great yogis and ascetics were completely possessed by lust, to say nothing of the low minded people,

eternal slaves of passion

 Jai Sri Ganesha,

The whole world was blinded with passion and agitated,

The Chakravaka bird that ruddy geese regarded neither day nor night, gods, demons human beings and Kinnaraa, serpents, evil spirits fiends, ghosts and vampire, 

I have refrained from dwelling on the condition of these,

Knowing them to be eternal slaves of passion,

Sri Ekadasi today to meet the truth of inner quest with a mild application of self in faith with,

Indeed an eternal cult for devotees of Lord Vishnu to reach at,

Sri Ekadasi is truly a special chapter for spirit to recover self from the wildness of Maya and address self favorable in the light of truth and cause, devotees may achieve the motto of being a pilgrim on the planet with adoration of the day in truth of simplicity,

Sri Ganga help devotees to recover from the falsehood of momentary effects and respective tempetations, impart eternal strength to sustain in the spirit of truth,

Sri Ganga not just a river or celestial stream but a message to man to struggle and carry on with its truth to meet the fate to merge in Ocean irrespective of all odds,

Where such was reported to be the case with inanimate creation, 

Who can relate the doing of sentient beings,

Beasts that walk on the land and birds traversing the air, and water,

Lost all sense of time and become the victim of lust,

Rivers in spat rushed

 Jai Sri Ram,

The Minds of all were seized with lust,

The boughs of trees bent low at the sight of creepers,

Rivers in spat rushed to meet the ocean,

Lakes and ponds united in love with one another,

LUST

 Jai Sri Ram,

Who is that superhuman being with two heads, 

To conquer whom the lord of Rati, Love,

Who has lifted his bow and arrows in Rage,

Whatever creature existed in the world, animate or inanimate and bearing masculine or feminine appellations transgressed their natural bounds and were completely possessed by LUST, 

May Lord bless all,

 Jai Sri Ram,

Everybody said, 

My goodness, what is going to happen,

What power will save us,

Who is that superhuman being with two heads,

mountain caves

 Jai Sri Ram,

Viveka took to flight with his associates,

His great warriors turned their back on the field of battle,

They all went and hid themselves in mountain caves in the forms of sacred Books at that time,

There was commotion in the world,

May Lord bless all,

Thanks please 

flied in panic,

 Jai Sri Ram,

The whole army of Viveka, discriminating knowledge,

Continence, religious vows, self-restraint of many kinds,

Fortitude, piety, spiritual wisdom, and the knowledge of qualified divinity both with form and without form, 

Morality, muttering of prayers, Yoga-contemplative union with god, dispassion, and so on, fled in panic,

love betrayed his anger,

 Jai Sri Ram,

He then exhibited his power, 

And brought the whole world under his sway,

When the god of love betrayed his anger,

All the barriers imposed by the Vedas were swept away in a moment,

hostility to shiva would mean sure death

Jai Sri Ram,

So saying god of love bowed his head to all,

And departed with his associates,

The bow of flowers in his  hand while leaving,

Love thought within himself that hostility to shiva would mean sure death to him,

May Lord bless all,

benevolence

 Jai Sri Ram,

I expect no good results for myself from hostility to Shambhu,

However, I shall do your work,

For the Vedas say benevolence in the highest virtue,

The saints ever praise him who lays down his life in the service of others,

with a smile,

 Jai Sri Ram,

The god of love, armed with five arrows,

And a fish emblazoned on his standard, appear on the scene,

The gods told him all their distress,

Hearing their tale, the love god pondered and spoke thus with a smile,

Prevail on him to marry

Jai Sri Ram,

Prevail on him to marry even against His will,

In this way alone may the interests of the gods be served,

The idea is excellent, everyone said,

The gods then prayed with great devotion,

Send him to shiva,

 Jai Sri Ram,

Approaching cupid, the god of love,

Send him to shiva,

Let him disturb the serenity of Sankara's mind,

Then we shall go and bow our head at Siva's feet,

Shiva

Jai Sri Ram,

She has undergone penance for winning the hand of Sambhu,

While Shiva has renounced everything, 

And sit absorbed in contemplation, 

Though it is most unseemly, yet hear one proposal of mine,

Sri Ekadasi today, day of sri Vishnu Pada Puja,

 Jai Sri Ram,

God will help you, 

And the plan will succeed,

Sati, who left her body at the sacrifice performed by Daksha,

Has been born again in the house of Himachal,

The demon shall die only,

When there is a son sprung from the loins of Shambhu,

For he alone can subdue the demon in battle,

Hearing what I say, act accordingly,

They then went to Virinchi-Brahma,

And told him their grievances, 

The creator found all the gods miserable,

Brahma reassured them all saying,
