The Lord appear in persons at the very mention of His name,

Name and form are the tow attributes of God,

Both of them are ineffable and beginning-less and can be rightly understood only in means of good intelligence,

It is presumptuous on one's part to declare as to which is superior or inferior,

The Name and the object named,

Though similar in significance,

And allied as master and servant one to another,

that is to say even though there is complete identity between God and his name, the former closely follows the latter even as a servant follows his master,

In ancient Literature

Jai sri Ram,
In ancient literature it is highlighted that how Lord Vishnu assumed the form of a gigantic tortoise,

In order to support mount Mandara and prevent it from sinking while it was being rotated by gods and demons in the attempt to churn the ocean of milk to attain nectar,

Again they are like bees for the beautiful lotus in the shape of the devotees's mind and are the very like Hari that Krishna and Haladara that Balarama, for Yashoda, in the shape of the tongue,

The two letters Ra and Ma forming part of the name of Raghuvara, the chief of Raghu', crown all the letters of the alphabet, the one spreading like an umbrella and the other resting as a crest jewel,

They are most delightful to utter.

Hear and remember and are dear as Rama and Laxmana to Tulsidas,

When treated separately, the tow letters lose their harmony, are differently pronounced, bear diverse meaning in the form of seed letters and as such yield different results,

Whereas they are naturally allied even as Brahma-the cosmic spirit, and Jiva the individual spirit, good brothers like the divine sages Nara and Narayana, they are sustainer of the universe and redeemers of the devotees in particular,

Once upon a time, Bhagwan Shankara invited his consort to join his dinner, Goddess Gauri, however declined on the ground,

That she had not yet recited the Vishnu Sahastranama, Which she must before,

Bhagwan Shankara asked her to repeat the name of Rama instead,

As a single utterance of the name was as good as reciting other names of the Lord, Parvati did accordingly and forthwith joined her Lord in the dinner,

Before the advent

Jai Sri Ram,
Valmiki was not just saint poet in his earlier life and was known in the name of Ramakara,

Seven seers , who once fell a victim to his depredation, awakened him to the reprehensible nature of his conduct and instructed him in the holy name Rama,

Completely immersed in sin he was, however, unable to utter the word, the seers therefore, asked him to repeat the name in the reverse order,

In this way he was eventually able to utter the name correctly and in course of time become so fond of repeating it that ultimately turned out to be a pious sage and related the story of Sri Rama in the fine verse even before the advent,

It is great spell which lord Maheshsvera mutters and which, when imparted by him at Kashi, leads to emancipation,

Its glory is known to Lord Ganesha,, who is worshiper before all others as a concession to the name,

The poet, is acquainted with glory of the name, inasmuch as he attained to purity by repeating it in the reverse order,

Hearing the verdict of Lord Shiva that the name is as good as a thousand other name of God, Goddess Bhavani dined with her consort after uttering it,

Seen the prevalence of the kali age Hara and Girija that Shiva and Parvati evolved a spring of spells in the tongue of savages, incoherent syllables,

Which yield no interpretation and require no repetition but whose efficacy is patent, revealing Shiva's Glory,

That Lord of Uma that Parvati, favorable as he is to me, shall make tis story of mine a source of blessings and joy,

Thus invoking Lord Shiva and his consort, goddess Parvati and obtaining their favor, i relate the exploits of sri Rama with a heart full of ardor,

Entering into the spirit of my manifold prayers, none should blame me on hearing the story,

Those who will raise objections even then are more stupid and difficult to intellect man myself,

I am no poet and have no pretensions to ingenuity, i sing the glories of sri Rama according to my own lights,

My intellect which wallows in the world, is poor match for the unlimited exploits of the lord of Raghus,

If those pearls are pierced with skill and strung together on the beautiful thread of Sri Rama's exploits,

And if noble soul wear them in their innocent heart, grace in the form of excessive fondness is the result,

Those who are born in the terrible age of kali, who through skin to the crow in their doing have put on the garb of a swan, Who trade the evil path, abandoning the track of the Vedas,

Who are embodiment of falsehood and repository of sins of the kali age, who are impostors claiming to be devotee of Sri Rama, though slaves of mammon, anger and passion and who are unscrupulous, hypocritical and foremost among intriguers, i occupy the first of them,

I greet the pollen like dust of my preceptor, refulgent, fragrant and flavored with love, lovely powder of the life giving herbs, which allays the host of all the attendant ills of Mundane Existence,

I adore Lord Hari, Known by the name of Sri Rama, who is superior to and lies beyond all causes, whose Maya holds sway over the entire creation,

The wise liken the heart of a poet to the sea,

His intellect to the shall containing pearls and goddess Saraswati to the star called Svati,

The modern Arcturus, the fifteenth lunar asterism considered as favorable to the formation of pearl,

If there is a shower in the form of beautiful ideas, lovely pearls make their appearance in the form of poetic effusion,

The fatigue occasioned by this long journey cannot be relieved by millions of devices unless she takes a dip in the lake of Sri Rama's exploits,

Realizing this in their heart, poets and wise men chant the glory of Sri Hari alone,

Which wipes away the impurities of the kali age,

Finding the bard singing the glories of worldly men the goddess of speech begins to beat her brow and repent,

Jai sri Ram,
So do the wise chant and hear the glory of Sita and Sri Rama,

Even though couched in the vulgar tongue,

The beauty of a gem, a ruby and a pearl does not catch the eyes as it should so long as they are born on the head of a serpent,

the top of a mountain and the crown of an elephant respectively,

The charm of them all is enhanced when they adorn the diadem of a king or the person of a young lady,

The milk of dark cow

Even as timber of every description is transformed into sandal and becomes worthy of adoration by contact with the Malaya mountain,

Nobody takes into account the quality of the wood in that region,

The milk of even a dark cow is white, and promise a great medicinal value,

Knowing it as adorned with the name and glory of sri Rama, for like the bee, saints have bias for goodness,
