There is very thin or thinnest veil between self and the supreme but it is not the veil but the alignment matters the most.
Self aligned to material existence never make it to pierce through veil in between without which motto of being human cannot be meet without that.
Three knots restrict self to align correctly; it is perfect alignment on the subject that makes it easy to pierce through veil to find the radiant form of divine light within self.
Indeed meditation is the subject for inwards journey but truth is the core of subject, truth is essential subject for perfect meditation; success in meditation depends on the truth in deeds of life.
