Mena ta once rose and went to Parvati uma kalyani, at the sight of Uma tears rushed to her eyes and she hugged the child,

Mother of the universe that known in the nmae of Uma thus spoke, listen mother; i relate to you a vision which i saw- a handsome and fair complextion noble brahmana gave me the following exhortation,

Recognise the truth of words of Narada and practice austerity,
Austerity is conductive to joy and put a pause to sorrow
By virtue of penance sesa beholds the earth
By virtue of penance Vishnu protects the whole universe
By virtue of penance Shiva brings bout dissolution.
