At the gateway of lanka lived a demoness lankini by name, locate Sri Hanuman as he was entering, and said that O fool, have you not been able to know who I am-every thief hereabout is my food,

Sri Hanuman dealt her with a blow of his fist that toppled down vomiting blood then she recovering herself stood up with joined palm in dismay, humbly addressed him,

who could count the multitudes of elephants, horses and mules, crowds of foot soldiers and chariots and mighty troops of demons-formidable host beyond measure,

Grooves and orchards, gardens and parks, lakes and the wells, looking charming the daughter of Human beings, nagas, gods and gandharvas enraptured with their beauty the minds of even hermits, here roared mighty wrestlers endowed with huge mountain like form grappled with one another to a duel, myriads of champions possessing frightful form sedulously guarding the city on all sides, elsewhere demons feasted on meats, saint Sri Tulsi Das has briefly told about because they are to get consumed by the fire of shafts of Sri Rama,

beholding a huge mountain ahead of him, he fearlessly ran up to its submit, lord Shiva elaborating this chapter to loving consort Gauri, that it deserve no credit for it as it was all attributable to the glory of his master, who devour death himself,

climbing up the hill he surveyed lanka, the most marvelous fortress that defied description, it was very high and enclosed by the ocean on all sides with rampart of the gold shed luster all around,

There had been a demoness who dwelt in the ocean and would catch the birds in the air by a mystic skill, missing their image in water confused creature got stuck in-between trapped by demoness and in this way she would have devour birds every day,

She employed the same trick on Sri Hanuman but this time Sri Hanuman was excessively cleaver for her trick and kick her out of that way and sent her to the place she deserve.

Sri Hanuman simply touched the mountain with his hand and then made obeisance to it saying that there can be no rest for me till i have accomplished the job assigned to me,

Sri Hanuman was moving ahead very fast in the sky, the gods in the sky saw it and in order to test the extra ordinary strength and intelligence they Sent Sursa, a mother of serpents,

Who come near Sri Hanuman and said, the gods have provided me a meal today, on hearing so Sri Hanuman reply , let me return after accomplished sri Rama's errand and tell my lord the news of Sita, then i will approach you and enter your mouth, is truth mother, please let me go now,

when, however, she would not let him go on any account, Hanuman said then why not devour me, she dissented her mouth so big about 8 mile, sri Hanuman make himself of 16 miles, she stretched her mouth to 250 miles, sri Hanuman exceeds this size then again she stretched her mouth further then sri Hanuman squeeze self to a tiniest form and enter in the mouth and come out again and bowing his head to her begged leave to proceed,

Lord Shiva, The Sat-Guru-who is embodiment of the bliss and bestower of supreme happiness, who is detached yet a lover of Lord Sir Hari Vishnu, knowledge personified and beyond duality, who is like the sky and hard even for Vedas to describe him, the one who is eternal pure, immovable and the witness of all the changes within and over that intellect beyond all states and devoid the three basic streams of Maya,

As direct by the ocean Menaka come out of his hiding place and give rest to envoy of Lord Rama in the mid ocean so as to enable him to cross the ocean by easy stages,

 Out of gratitude to the ocean who offered him shelter all the time, and in order to repay his obligation to the wind god, mainaka emerged from his asylum and served as a stepping stone for hanuman to rest on and replenish his store of energy,

Sri Hanuman however who was spurred on his by his devotion to his master and depended on his all sufficient grace, needed no other support and took leave of the mountain by merely acknowledging the service of mainaka,

Listen that in my youth age along with Jatayu soared in the heavens and approached the orb of the Sun, Jatayu could not bear the heat of the sun and came back, but I in pride advanced nearer the sun, and my wings scorched with inordinate heat and I fell to the ground with a fearful stream,

A sage, Candrama by Name{Moon}was moved with compassion when he saw me and taught me spiritual wisdom in many ways and rid me of my identification with body and help me out to recover from pains and said,

All the monkeys rose when they saw vulture, while Jambvaan felt much perturbed at heart, Angad reflected within self and said,

When Sampati heart it stirred him with mixed feeling sorrow for the death of his brother and joy that he meets with servants of Lord, he drew near to the monkeys, who felt alarmed by his presence,

Assuring them of safety he went and enquired them about his younger brother and the monkeys told him the whole story, as he heard of his brother’s obsequies performed by the lord with his own hands, he glorified the lord Rama in many ways,

The monkeys trembled with fear to hear the vulture’s words-our doom is now sealed, we are sure, they said to themselves,

Every was in deep sorrow of situation, at that moment Jambvaan  tries to highlight the Glory of Lord Rama to them that Rama is not just mortal man, know him to the same as that of Brahma,

His servants are highly blessed in that we are ever devoted to the same Brahma endowed with a qualified form, of his own free will the Lord descends on earth for the sake of gods, Earth, cows and the Brahmans,

Swayam Prabha, the pious soul and dedicated devotee of Lord went to her master and drawing near to him bowed her head at his lotus feet,

She made supplication in diverse ways and the lord granted to her unceasing devotion,

Bowing to the Lord’s command she left for Badrika-van or sir Badrinath in Himalaya, cherishing in her heart sir Rama’s Feet, that are adorned by the unborn Brahma as well all gods,

On that side at the sea coast, monkeys thought to themselves, the time limit fixed by the Sugreeva has expired yet nothing has been achieved,

She said Go and drink water and partake of beautiful and luscious fruits of various kinds,

They bathed and took some delicious fruits and came once more to her, she relates to them her story from beginning to the end and added that I will go and see the lord now and you close your eyes and you will find yourself outside the cavern, indeed you shall find Sita, need not feel remorse, the champions close their eyes as open found themselves at sea-shore,

Sir Hanuman took them all and showed them cavern, they placed Sir Hanuman ahead and entered in that cave immediately,

  Going further they saw a wonderful garden and a lake with many full blown lotuses, there stood a beautiful temple close by where sat a women who was austerity incarnate,

If at any place they came across some demon they would take his life just through a single stroke,

They looked into every recess of the forest and hill and if they meet the hermit they would surround him but as of now they felt much oppressed with thrust; water was not there within reach and they too lost in thick forest,

For warming oneself one should wait upon the Sun turning one’s back towards the same, while fire should be waited upon turning one’s breast towards it, but a master must be served with one’s whole being without resorting to any wiles,

Similarly one should strive for lasting happiness in the other world by discarding the unrealities of the world,

In this way all one’s woes incident to birth and death are eradicated; the consummation of human birth, brethren, lies in worshipping Sir Rama in a disinterested spirit,

On hearing the command, monkeys proceeded at once in various directions then Sugreeva called angada, nala and Sri Hanuman,

Listen, o nila angada and Hanuman along with jamvaan you are all resolute of mind and wise proceed all of you, gallant warrious towards south and enquire all unto the subject that in true spirit,

During the scene itself, multitudes of monkeys arrived; legions of monkeys of various colors were visible in all quarters,

Lord Shiva said to Sir Gauri that I saw the army of monkeys that beyond measure, only a fool would try to count them,

Monkeys came and bowed their head at Sir Rama’s feet and found their true Lord in Him when they gazed on his continence,

In the whole host there was no monkey whose welfare Sri Rama did not personally enquire, indeed this no miracle of My Lord, who has taken all forms and is omnipresent; they stood in martial array as ordred and king Sugreeva thus instructed them all,

Bowing his head at sir Rama’s feet Sugreeva explained with joined palm, my lord-I am not at all to blame for what I have done,

My lord excessively strong is your Maya which withdraws itself from you alone, all others are slaves of their senses while I am a vile brute and a monkey, the most libidinous of all animals,

A man who is not pieced by the shaft of a women’s glace, nay, who remains in the dark night of anger who is not swayed by passion and who is never caught in net of greed, is truly good,

It is a virtue which cannot be attained by personal Endeavour-it is only your grace that one here and there can acquire it-thereupon lord smile and said brother you are as dear to me as Bharat and now with all heart organize efforts whereby we may get whereabout of Sita,

Angad first face Sir Laxman and bow his head and made humble petition to him whereupon laxman extended to him his protecting arms,

Sir Hanuman sent Tara, wife of Bali to laxman as per request of Sugreeva to meet and Sri Hanuman joined her followed by Sugreeva,

Laxman pay due respect to all and hugged Sugreeva and laxman was gratified to hear humble speech and reassured him in many ways,

Sir hanuman told laxman all that had happened in the meanwhile-how batches of spies had been dispatched in various directions, accompanied by Angad, Sugreeva and Sir Hanuman arrived at Sir Rama,

Sugreeva to Sri Hanuman, O Hanuman sensuality has robed me of my senses, O son of wind God, troop of monkeys are scattered here and there,

Send massagers to them and recall them all and warn them of dare consequences if not be back within fortnight,

Thereupon Sri Hanuman sent for envoys and receiving the most politely charged them with their duty making use of threats, blandishments and persuasion,

They all bowed their head at the feet and proceeded on the journey, on that very moment Laxman entered the city if fire of words,

There Sri Hanuman thought to himself that Sugreeva has forgotten the task entrusted to him,

Approaching Sugreeva and tried to bring him by employing all the four methods of persuasion-Sugreeva much alarmed to hear such words of Sri Hanuman,

If only once I could anyhow come to know of here whereabouts I would recover her out of hands of death even,

Wherever she may be if she is alive I would make an effort to rescue her, dear brother,

The Cakravaka birds are no more to be seen as virtues mostly disappear with kali age, even though it rains on the barren land too yet not a blade of grass spouts just as concupiscence takes no root in heart of a servant of Lord sri Hari Vishnu,,

Lord Rama said to Laxman, look here-Laxman, the peacock dance at the sight of clouds even as a householder having learning towards dispassion would rejoice to see a devotee of Bhagwaan Vishnu,

The clouds are fast gathering in the sky and making a terrible noise, bereft as as I am of my Sita, my heart trembles to see all this, Lighting flashes fitfully amid the clouds, like the friendship of the wicked which never endures,

The pouring clouds cleave close to the ground even the learned stoop beneath accumulated lore-the mountain endure buffering of showers even as a saint would put up with the taunts of the wicked, the swelling streamlets rush with great speed just as the wicked would feel elated even with a small fortune,

The water becomes turbid the moment at descends on the earth even as the jeev {embodied souk, is enveloped in Maya as soon as Born, the water coming from various directions gathers into a pool even as commendable virtues find their way into the heart of a noble soul,
