festival lights welcome Rama

 Jai Sri Ram,

Along with Bharata came all, when Lord Saw the great sages coming, he dropped his bow and arrows and ran with Laxman to clasp lotus feet, Sage Vashista embraced them and enquired after their welfare, 

Sri Rama replied it is in your grace alone that our welfare lies, Rama now met all the other Brahmanas and bowed their head to them, then Bharata clasped the feet of Rama, lay prostrate on the ground, and would not rise even though being lifted up, till at last lord forcefully took him and pressed to his bosom, 

Flood of tears from his eyes knows not any bound, erotic sentiments and affections capture the occasion, Bharata enjoyed the moment beyond speech and mind, Lord then met gladly Shatrughan, pressed him to his bosom, Laxman met Bharata embraced each other in utmost affection, 

Laxman embraced Shatrughan and relieved each other with terrible separation, Bharata Shatrughan bowed to Sita, and felt supreme delight, citizens transported with joy at the sight of Lord, Sita greeted all her mother-in-laws, they enquired after her welfare and blessed her, all gazed at the Rama and rejoiced, festival lights welcome Rama,

aerial car departed, full of joy but deep agony

 Jai Sri Ram,

Accompanied by his preceptor, sage Vashista, and kinsmen, his younger brother Satrughan and a host of Brahmanas, with a heart overflowing with affection, Bharat joyfully set forth to receive all merciful, citizen start singing festal songs to welcome Rama,

On the other side. Rama was busy showing charming city to the monkeys and bears, said the Rama, listen Sugreeva, Vhivishan holy is this city and beautiful this land, although all extolled Vaikuntha that my divine abode, which is familiar to Vedas and throughout the world, it is not so dear to me as the city of Ayodhya, only some rare souls know this secret, 

This beautiful city is my birth place, every place of this city is divine, to its north it flows the river Sarayu, by bathing in which men ensure a home near me without any difficulty, the dwellers here dear to me, the city itself not only full of bliss, but bestows a residence in my divine abode,

 The monkeys were delighted to hear the worlds of the lord and said, blessed indeed is Ayodhya, that has evoked praise from Sri Rama himself, as the Lord saw people coming to see him, he urged the aerial car to halt near the city and so it came down to the ground, after alighting from car, Rama sent Puspak to Kuber back, the aerial car departed, full of joy but deep agony of being parting,

Sarayu rolled down the crystal clear water,

 Jai Sri Ram,

Said Bharata, Rama ever remember me as his servant, Hanuman thrilled with joy to hear the modest question of Bharata, and fell his feet, saying so,

How can he be otherwise than humble, the holiest of holy and an ocean of noble virtues, To Rama you are dear as his life, bowing head to Bharata once more Hanuman returned to Rama, 

Bharata returned to Ayodhya safe and sound, on hearing the news all the mother's started up and ran, but Bharat eased their mind by personally telling them of the Rama's welfare, as the information reached the city, all people starts preparing to welcome Rama, 

Ayodhya becomes the mind of beauty, delightful breeze breathed soft and fragrant and the Sarayu rolled down the crystal clear water,

 Jai Sri Ram,

Listen, O fountain of mercy, I am sn of wind god, a monkey, Hanuman is my name, I am humble servant of Sri Rama, the befriender of the meek, 

Hearing this Bharata Rose and reverently embraced Him, affection was too great for his heart to contain, his eyes streamed with tears, at your very sight, O Hanuman, all my woes have disappeared, in you I have embraced my beloved Rama himself, 

Again and again, he enquired about Sri Rama, and said listen brother what shall I give you in return for this happy news, I have pondered and found that there is nothing in this world to match the news you have brought, 

I am thus unable to repay my debt to you, pray, recount to me the dongs of my Lord, the Hanuman bowed his head at the feet once more and  narrated all meritorious deeds of Sri Ram, Said Bharata, tell me, Hanuman, does my gracious lord ever remember me as one of his servant,

The term of Rama's exile was to expire only the next day, which made the people of the city extremely anxious, all were plunged in thought everywhere, meanwhile auspicious omens of all kinds occurred that made everyone cheerful at heart,

The city itself brightened up as if to announce the adavent, mothers were inwardly happy as if someone was about to tell that Rama come with Sita and Laxman, 

Bharata's Right eye throbbed along with arms, recognising this to be an happy omen, felt overjoyed at heart, very next moment thoughtful again, many thoughts surround Bharata, while Bharata's mind sinking in the ocean of separation, Hanuman in disguised of Brahman, came like a bark to his rescue, 

He found Bharata seated on a mate of Kusha grass, emanciated in body, with a coil of matted hair for a crown muttering the name of Rama with eyes full of tears, overjoyed Hanuman stood erect in front of him, and addressed thus, Lord is coming, has arrived safely, Said Bharata, who are you, who has brought such an auspicious news,

I unceasingly extol Sri Rama, the praise-worthy lord of Sita, who possessed the form of greenish blue as the neck of a peacock and adorned with a print of the Brahman's lotus foot, which testify to his being the greatest of all gods,

Rich in splendor clad in yellow, lotus-eyed, ever propitious holding a bow and arrow in his hands, mounted on the aerial car named Puspaka accompanied by the host of monkeys and waited by his own brother Laxman, 

The lotus feet of Rama, charming and delicate, are adored by Brahma, one that unborn, and greatest lord Shiva, and fondled by the lotus hands of Janaka's daughter and the haunt of the bee-like mind of the worshipper,

I glorify the all-merciful Lord Sankara, possessing a comely form, while as the jasmine flower, the moon, and the conch, with eyes resembling a lovely lotus, Ambika's spouse-that mother of the universe, bestower of one's desired fruit and the deliverer from the clutches of calamity,

In obedience to Rama monkeys and bears start their journey home back, Sugreeva, Nal, Neela, Jambvaan, Angad, Hanuman, and Vibhishan with other mighty generals of the monkey host are overwhelmed with emotion to utter a word, with eyes full of tears stood facing Rama and gazing intently on him, Rama relates things to Sita, the places mighty demons found their end, how the army of monkey and bears raise Setu to cross the ocean, shown her the places Rama resort in the journey to her, 

Soon the Aerial car reached Dandak Van the most charming forest now, the abode of great sages, The lord visited the hermitage of great sages, and soon they all reached Chitarkoot, Rama pointed out goddess Yamuna, sita made obeisances, again they looked at the Treveni that confluence of trio Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, made respective obeisances see now Ayodhya that a city which relives threefold agony and uproots the malady of transmigration, Rama and Sita made obeisance along with tears of their eyes with joined palms, hey all descended from the aerial car, thereby Rama instructed Hanuman to rush to Bharat and informed him about soon, go ahead of us, Rama visited Sage Bhardwaj, sage offered all kind of worship to Rama, Sita worshipped goddess Ganga, and thanks her from the bottom of her heart that they reached home back safely, 

Guha joined the Rama, and Rama felt overjoyed and fell flat on the ground to mark eternal respect for Ayodhya, 

Blissful Rama that self sufficient by nature in sports of his maya relates the worldly deeds to script the story that time relate to time and again to ease the men to sail safely,

As Shambu had finished his prayer and left, Vibhishan visited Rama, bowing his head and submitted gently, listen to my prayer, O my lord, you have killed Ravana, your sacred renown throughout the three worlds, you have shown mercy on me, now my Lord, consecrate your servant's abode, beguile the exertion of battle, then inspect the treasury, places and wealth and gladly bestows whatever you please on monkeys pray accept me as your own, then proceed to Ayodhya, as Rama heard such polite words, his eyes filled with tears, 

Said Rama, listen Vibhishan, what you say is quite true, your treasury and places are all mine, but when I recalled Bharata's condition, every moment passes seems an age to me, take a step, my friend, that I may soon be able to see him, you shall enjoy sovereignty till the end of creation, inwardly thinking on me, and then you shall ascend to my abode, the destination of holy men,

Vibhishan clasped the feet of the Lord, began to recount his virtues, turned to his place, and came back with an aerial car and lots of precious gems and jewels in honor of Rama, Rama stepped in along with his mates and started for Ayodhya, from the sky Lord distributes the articles for monkeys and bears, surprised them with his courtesy,

They were crossing the sea by aerial route fast, Shiva relates it to Uma, the practice of Yoga that concentration of mind, Japa muttering prayer, charity, and penance, the performance of sacrifices, fasting, and other religious observances fail to evoke Rama's compassion to the same degree as unalloyed devotion does,

Said Sita, Now, my dear son, devise some means whereby I may behold with my own eyes the tender swarthy limbs of my Lord, Then Hanuman returned to Sri Rama, and apprised him of Sita's welfare, on hearing her tidings, Rama called Angada and Vibhishan, and said both of you accomplished Hanuman and respectfully escort Sita here, Vibhishan gave instruction to do all necessary at the moment and  decked her with ornaments, Sita reached, Rama said, let the monkeys and bears gazed her as they would on their own mother,

All rejoiced to hear the lord's words, flowers were rained from heaven, Sita previously was lodged in the fire, and now Rama sought to bring her back and asked Laxman to arrange fire for this mystic Yajna, it was the reason the lord used tidy words that makes demon ladies lament, Sita honor the command of time and pass through the fire to her her sanctity in truth with spirit divine for the lotus feet of Rama, the sound resounds the earth and heaven with the echo of Glory to Rama, thereby Matili taking leave of Rama turn back to Indra, 

Now all gods and Siddh visit Rama and praise him in various ways, The greatest sages in both formats manifest for the praise of Rama, and then comes Brahma and revered Rama in many ways, Father of Rama now manifested on the scene and praises the doings of Rama,  overwhelmed with emotions return to the Lord's abode, Then reached Indra and extolling Rama with cheerful heart, seek unalloyed devotion to the lotus feet of Rama, Then Rama after giving the requisite boon, asked Indra to shower nectar for monkeys and bears who died for my cause, soon Indra shower that nectar to regain themselves to their lives, though shower met the body of both demons and the monkeys but only monkeys wake up from death, not demons or the reason they had already left to their nether regions, 

Then Sankara reached and extolled Rama in many ways and reassured Rama I must visit the occasion of your coronation in Ayodhya, and turn back to his abode in Mount Kailash,

Listen, Hanuman, my son

 Jai Sri Ram,

After finishing the obsequies Vibhishan came and bowed his head once more, Ramacallaed Laxman, and said, you and Sugreeva along with Anagada, Nala and Neela, Jambvant and Hanuman in the company of Vibhishan and make arrangement for the coronation of Vibhishan, as per my father's command, I cannot enter a town, do things in all auspicious charter,

On hearing the command of Rama, all monkeys proceeded, at once reached town, and speedily arranged the thing by command of the Lord, they seated Vibhishan on the throne and applied a sacred Mark on his forehead as a token of sovereignty they glorified him, joining their palms they all bow their head to him to mark respect and honor, then Vibhishan returned to Sri Rama, bow his head, said Rama, Lord cheered them all, it is your might that enemy has been killed Vibhishan has got the kingdom of Lanka, 

Men who sing your doings shall easily cross the boundless ocean of mundane existence, The monkey host would never feel sated with listening to Lord's words, they all bowed their heads and clasped his lotus feet again and again, the Lord asked Hanuman, now you go to Lanka and relates her what it has happened return soon with news of her welfare, thereupon Hanuman rushed to reach Sita, did all kind of homage, Sita recognized Hanuman in no time, Hanuman made obeisance to her in many ways, Sita asked him, dear son if my gracious lord is doing well with his brother and the monkey host,

Said Hanuman, all is well with Lord, Mother monster has been conquered in battle, and Vibhishan attained everlasting dominion, her heart was filled with joy when she heard the words of Hanuman, her soul was overjoyed, eyes full of tears, again, and again said to Hanuman, there is nothing in all the three worlds equals in value to this information, listen to mother, today I have doubtless attained the sovereignty of the entire creation when I find Rama safe and sound with his brother after conquering the enemy's ranks on the battlefield, Listen, Hanuman, my son, may all commendable virtues abides in your heart and may lord Rama with Ananata be ever gracious to you,

The moment Mandodary saw her lord's head she fainted in her grief and dropped to the ground, his other wives too sprang up and rushed to the spot, beating their bosom and weeping, spoke words from her soul unto the truth of velour of her spouse and crying for a mistake he made in identifying god as man, 

O My Lord, you took for a mere man Sri Hari himself, a veritable fire to consume the host of the demon race, did not adore him, my beloved spouse, you delight from birth in harming others yet Rama absorbed you in his own being, I BOW TO HIM, the immutable Brahma, 

My Lord, there is none else so gracious as the divine Sri Rama, who bestowed on you a state which is difficult even for the Yogis, all rejoiced to hear the mandatory words, women making lamentation Vibhishan approached them in wet eyes to console, Rama asked Laxman to support Vibhishan in his dismay on occasion, lord instructed for abandoning all sorrow and perform the funeral rites, obedience to Lord's command, strictly observing the scriptural ordinance with due regard to time and place,

After Offering to the deceased a handful of water and sesamum seeds for propitiation of the soul Mandodary and other queens returned to their place, recounting themselves the host of excellences of Sri Rama,

Thirtyone shafts

 Jai Sri Ram,

With many such words, Trijata comforted Sita, then returned to her residence, Sita recalled Rama's kind disposition was overwhelmed with anguish of separation from him, Lamented within herself, now her left eye started throbbing, considering it to be a good omen, she took heart and said to herself, Rama will surely meet me soon, 

With the day break, Ravana moves ahead with total illusion to deceive all, Rama empowers all monkeys as bears with a new zest to face all kinds of mystic challenges on the battlefield, finding monkeys most powerful, Ravana took thought to become invisible and revealed illusive power, Ravana then manifested in many numbers and fought individually to even last man of the army, but now Rama took the lead to decide the fate of battle once for all, Ravana finds as many as Rama in the battlefield and suffered unspeakable causality, most of his mighty warriors fall out, Now Rama reach at that threshold of the War, Vibhishan highlighted the truth of the might of Ravana and is being alive ever after cutting his heads, it was the nectar stored in his navel, that resisting him from his death,

Now Rama set a different arrow at the bow in truth with eternal Sankalp along with other thirty shafts and all at once directed towards Ravana, which flew forth like the serpents of death, one arrow sucked up the depths of the navel, while rest struck his ten heads and twenty arms with impetuosity, arrows carried off with them his heads and arms, headless and armless trunk danced on the battlefield to mark his last, earth sunk under his weight while dying shouted in a terrible roar, where is Rama, I will challenge him in battle, expanding two halves he dropped to the ground, monkeys took away the body of Ravana depositing it before Mandodary in truth with dignity and all respect, gods sounded their kettledrums,

Saints and gods rained downed flowers, shouting glory, Glory to the all-merciful, Mukunda that bestower of liberation,

Having uttered these taunting words Ravana furiously began to discharge arrows like so many thunderbolts, shafts of various designs flew to fill all the quarters, and earth, as well as heaven, experienced the chaos of shafts all over, Rama's arrow consumed all that mysticism created by Ravana's, in fury, Ravana hurled a fierce lance but lord sent that back to him, Indra dispatched a charioteer with Sarthi Maitali, now Rama in rage frustrated the Ravana with shafts with the speed of light, Ravana mystically sent arrows that hurt charioteer Sarthi Maitali, Rama took compassion and lifted him and restore him to his truth, now Rama encountered the Army with more rage shot forth with quiver, 

Rama's arrows were moving like the deadliest serpents with incurable venom, now the battlefield was more than hell for the enemy, Ravana was challenged by Hanuman, and it was a hard time for Ravana to face Hanuman, he became invisible to all, soon revealed self in other direction, monkeys had no courage t face him, Hanuman, Angada, Nal, and Neel were act as a wall against the illusion of Ravana to safeguard monkeys, in trice lord dispersed the whole phantom, even the veil of darkness torn asunder, it was one to one of Ravana and Angada, Ravana was surprised with mystic tactics of Angada, bear, and monkeys grew furious to saw the scenario, thereby Rama cut his hands but they regrow soon, Rama cut his head, but that reinstalled immediately it was a mystic phenomenon ever seen by anyone in any battle, Rama was killing him again and again with speed of light but the Ravana was regaining to himself on the same moment, 

The Might of the Jamvant was beyond words he was safeguarding the monkeys and the bears in all quarters and imparting requisite strength midst of battle to carry on, then he kicked Ravan in his chest which made him miserable and fall down unconscious on his charioteers, and his driver takes him back safely, as Ravan regain the conscious shout at drive why he takes him to the palace from the battlefield, he had to kill the Ravana today itself, there all monkeys and bears turn back to Rama with the end of the day,

There Ravana enters the obscure cave for a Yajna to kill Rama with mystic power in truth with occult science, that night was absolutely restless for Sita there to know about that even but his head was removed yet Ravana was not killed, He enquired from her local guardian name Trijata who served her like anything, mother why not you tell me, how this monster will attain to death, Said Trijata, O, wonderful princess, only secret of his life is this that he has installed you in his heart that why Rama is not sending arrows at heart to dispatch this monster, and playing tactics with him cutting his heads again and again to divert his mind from you, as he got distract from this phenomena his attention will not be on you, when you will not be in heart, Rama will fired a shaft at his heart and he will be killed in fraction of second,

Last moment

Ravana attacks from all sides and makes it tough for the monkeys, Laxman reaches the spot to rescue the monkeys from his deadliest net, Ravana shouts at Laxman, I was looking for you the killer of my son, your death is sure for now, and attacked Laxman, Laxman assailed him with his shafts destroy his carrier, Ravana used the gift of Brahma to kill Laxman right at his chest, he dropped on the ground, Hanuman takes the front, Rama made Laxman fit to regain self and carry on with the battle, 

Ravana hurled many mystic techniques on Hanuman to dispatch him, Laxman reached to rescue him and struck down the charioteer making Ravan recognize the might of ANANTA that Laxman, by now Ravana has realized the might of the two brothers he creates havoc for other than these two and awaits sunset to perform a mystic Yajna to regain to the occult power inherited to him through divine sources, 

Meanwhile, the vast demon host with its overcrowded ranks, monkey warriors saw masses of mystic clouds heading towards them, a terror of death danced like anything, a most unholy river of blood that smote recreants, ran across the battlefield, warriors fell here and there like the trees on its banks, ghost and goblins and higher genil with shaggy mass took their plunge, Yoginis storing blood in skulls for mysticism to reach themselves, myriads of headless trunks trolled along, and yelled, Ravana thought to himself that demons have been wiped out and I am left alone while monkeys are still numerous, let me create the illusion, Rama cut short his illusion, and manifest before him once more, 

Said Ravana, listen, O hermit, I am not among those you have vanquished in the battle, My Namae is Ravana, you slew Khara, Dushna, and Viradha, killed poor Vali as a hunter from hidden reality, Kumbhakaran, and Meganada but I am not among them, be warned, Rama said, you said truly you are not like them, but prate no more show your velour, do not ruin your reputation by begging, Ravana laughed when he heard Rama, teaching wisdom in fear of death, but did not shrink from wagging war against me, now it seems you hold your life now dear that very dear at this last moment,

the chariot to conquer

On the death of Meganada, Angada, and Hanuman said, blessed is your mother, then Hanuman lifted his body with de respect and placed it at the gate of Lanka, Ravana consoled all womenfolk in various ways, quote, the entire universe is perishable, taught them wisdom through immersed in dismay of his most valuable loss, those who practice good morals themselves are few and far between, Ravana open it to all those scared of the war can detain them here itself but in the battlefield, or to pay the hefty price there,

At the dawn of the day, Ravana entered the battle irrespective of all kinds of bad omens applauding a hidden message for him, now the war was at its climax with total mystic reality from both sides, demons were applying it hard and Rama alone destroying in hidden ways, illusion ruling the truth of battle hard to differentiate who is who and to whom should quarrel, but glory to Rama was applauded from all sides and its echo was reaching all the celestial regions, Vibhishan disconcert when saw Rama on barefoot and Ravana on a mystic chariot, as Rama came to know about the distress of Vibhishan pacify him through the light of wisdom,

Know it as reality Vibhishan that the chariot to conquer the victory is quite another, Valour and fortitude are the wheels Truthfulness and good conduct are enduring banners and standards, even so, strength, discretion and self-control, and benevolence are the four horses, Adoration of God is Sarthi that expert driver, dispassion the shield and contentment the sword, again, charity is an axe, reason the fierce lance and the highest wisdom is a relentless bow, A pure and study mind is like a quiver, while quietude and the various forms of abstinence that Yamas and religious observance that Niyamas are a sheaf of sorrows, an homage to brahmans and one's own preceptor is an impenetrable coat of mail, there is no other equipment of victory as efficacious as this, My friend, he who owns such a chariot of piety shall have no enemy to conquer anywhere,

Vibhishan clasped the feet of the Lord, and Ravana threw his challenge, all gods Sddhas, and ancient sages in varying garbs watching this concluding chapter including Brahma, hacking the life on the battlefield is not a most concerned chapter,  the gallant monkeys and gregarious demons looked like so many infuriated forms of death separately fought against them, Ravana had his most reliable shield that austere penance of his consort that daughter of Maye Danava and embodiment of mystery, Laxman was giving cover to all monkeys and bears from mystic attacks of demons, Ravana manifest now in many forms and there were infinite Ravanas were there in the battlefield hard to distinguish the real but all attaching in real pace,

At the close of the day the two contending armies retired from the battlefield, the battle had proved exceedingly strenuous even to the stoutest warrior, Ravana eternally in dismay and externally lamented clasping the head of brother to his bosom, all are tight-lipped to speak a word about, Meghanada consoled his father and assured him of his heroism tomorrow, his might and occult truth, mystic reality and mysticism of his austere penance,

There, the spy of Vibhishan revealed the truth about Yajna being performed by the Meghanada and he informed and dispatched a respective gang of monkeys to disrupt his austere to become incomparable to win over death even,, special monkeys versed with mysticism and disrupt his Yajna and the day broke once again in the battlefield, Laxman bow to Sri Rama and Take a vow to dispatch the Meghanada to the nether world by the sunset, Rama blessed him and there had been an unprecedented battle, more mystic than physical, Meghanada assumed the form of illusion, it was hard to locate him though he was nearby, Laxman and Meganada had applied themself like anything to sweep the battle, it is not the day of Meghanada, he saw his death in front of him many a time and lastly Laxman made him met with, He killed Meghanada but respect his dignity of being a might warrior, he give up his ghost with words till his last breath, where is Rama's younger brother, where is Laxman, where is Ram, I will kill them, it was known to him that Rama is a Vishnu and truth of Laxman right from the begenings and revealed it to her mother too but he was an most obideint son apart from being a great warrior, and lay down his life to cost it,

There Kumbhakarna creates havoc among the monkeys and bears, fear manifesting like death, he was beyond control because of the size and might of his body, thrashing the monkeys and bears like anything, it was a tough time to counter him even for Angada and Hanuman, Sugreeva was repeatedly lying his tactics to trap him, but ultimately got trapped himself by his Maya,

Dashing monkeys and bears on the ground to dispatch them, his mouth becomes the source of infinite fire to consume the whole army, In the most terrible scene of the battle, he alone acts as a man army to act on the verdict of Ravana, Rama has to manifest midst of the battlefield, arrows of Rama now settle the score in no time but Kumbhakarana playing mysticism in series to deceive all, soon Rama cut his head and removed from his body and head falls before the Ravana, the worst scene of the Life Ravana ever faced,

Sri Rama vouchsafed a place in his own abode to  a vile demon, who was a mine of impurities, dull-witted are those men who adore him not,

While on their way back, he passed through the sky of Ayodhya to alarmed Bharat, who restricted him from enquiring about it, in brief, Hanuman relates the story and seeks leave, blessed by Bharat Hanuman resumed his journey back to Lanka and soon reached, all rejoiced there to see Hanuman back with the Sanjivini, Soon Sushene do the needful and Laxman regain to himself, embraced by Rama like anything, then Hanuman respectfully drop Sushen to his home with thanks, the nightmare ends, 

As Ravana came to know all about it, he reached Kumbhakarana to seek his help and related the whole story of how an army of Rama had destroyed the glory of Lanka, on hearing the words of Ravana, Kumbh Karan felt sorry, having carried off the mother of the universe, O fool, you will expect good out of it, said, you have not acted well, try to confided the secret of Rama as revealed to him by Narada, as he thought of Rama's beauty, he forget himself for a moment,

There Laxman headed with his might of anger to take revenge on Meganada, both grappled with each other in truth their mystic skill was a great strange for the army of both sides, Laxman the incarnation of Sesha Naga who holds the earth without any support, was beyond the reach of Meganada even after applied all might technics in his vision when he found self in jaws of death, his last resort was Brahmaatra to safeguard self, take no time to release that which cause loss of conscious for Laxman, then by creating a safe orbit to restrict all he wanted t kidnap his body but failed miserably to lift him then Jambavan cut all mystic knots around and lift Meganada and throw him like a ball, he falls miles away in Lanka, their end of the day create sorrow in this camp and Hanuman brought Laxman to Rama in that state,

Said the Ravana, if I hear of anyone turning his back on the battlefield, I will behad him, consumed my all and enjoyed luxuries till now, and now at this time of battle life becomes dear, it was not just a battle but a dance of terrified death, Angad and Hanuman were the live manifestation of death for demons, both terrible springs supporting each other and dispatching mighty warriors, other monkeys doing all the same with Angada and Hanuman out of shear fun,

Angada and Hanuman invoking Rama at heart acre creating hell for the army of Ravana, women crying and abusing Ravana for all this dismay, two heroes lead from the forefront and crush the adversities and battle reach at the end of the day whereby Ravana lost three fourth of his army in a day, both returned to Rama, Rama graciously regarded them, Ravana now planed a to expend Maya in battlefield, use his occult powers to strengthen the army, 

Next was the day of Maya of Ravana in the form of Atikaya Akampana and many more faces of destruction and death on the battlefield, many times creating a night in the day, creating smoke to defuse the might of monkeys, rains filth, skulls, and blood to distract the army of Rama through his Maya, yet Ravana army failed miserably again the might of warriors of Rama, tough for Ravana to reconcile the lose at the end of the day,

As Rama knows about the enemy summoned all his councilors and asked about assailing all the four gates of Lanka, soon strategy was made to proceed, troops were divided into four streams to attack, and in no time things materialized to enter the long-awaited battle,  

Glory to Rama resounded in the sky through the echos of the time and occasion, roared the monkeys and the bears unsurpassed in their might like so many lions to conquer the world and create havoc for Lanka at all the four gates, it was a scene of uproar, mk  monkeys and bears lay hold the masses of rocks and hurled them against the fort, penetrating the places all around sand Rama's praises wherever they strike, catching even deadliest demons and dispatching them to the nether world,

Angada admonished him in various ways but as his end drew near, he would not listen, Angada departed,

Eyes of Mandodary were in tears to notice the might of Rama's messenger, clasped the feet of Ravana spoke again, O my beloved, ponder in mind and abandon perversity, your conflict with Rama is quite out of place, recall the truth of his younger brother who traced a line, you were unable to cross, such as your velour you talked about all the time, and you expect to conquer battle against them, whose messengers leap across the sea and blazed your capital city in no time,

Pray again and again to you, try to recognize him who slain Viradha, Khara, and Dushna, Killed Kabanda in mere sports, disposed Vali with a single shaft, who bridged the ocean in no time, encamped on mount Suvela of your Lanka is the same merciful Rama the glory of solar race, in your own interest sent messager who trambled upon your might in open court, 

By now two sons have been slain and dust down your capital, retrace your step even now, adore Sri Rama, my husband, and win unsullied fame thereby, word of Mandodary pierced the heart of Ravana deep through and through, he rose and left for councilors without speaking even a word,

In the assembly of Ravana, even mighties warriors and the embodiment of might and power made all efforts to move the feet of Angada but failed miserably, feet refused to stir what a mystic truth of might Angada bear by the grace of Sri Rama,

Enemies of heaven rose again in their combined approach to move the feet and dashed forward but failed time and again, it was more than shame for all then at last Meghnada came forward to meet the truth of taste and applied his might occult as well as physical but miserable failed all the way, 

Then Ravana took the lead and got up from his throne and reached the feet of Angada, as he bent to hold the feet, Angada removed his feet and said, bowing at my feet won't help you Ravana, you cannot be saved by clinging my feet, Go and clasped the feet of Rama, he will bless you with wisdom even you do not deserve, 

Ravana turned back much abashed at heart to hear sarcastic words, all his splendor was gone, and in a fraction of time robed of his glory by a small monkey of Sri Rama's side, thereby Angada revealed unto the truth that before reaching the assembly he had killed his son, there and then in no time, made all nervous with hidden fear as they witness the doings of Angada, a messenger of Rama,

Said Angada, bragging not in vain, contending with Rama, such will be your fate when Lord gets engaged in battle, and his fierce arrows dart, will you then be able to bounce, realizing before time and adore the high souled Sri Rama,

Hearing these words Ravana flared up, and related the might of Kumbakarna and Meganada, his brother and son unmatchable warrior the vanquisher of gods, and their king Indra, making a bridge on the sea is nothing, many birds even cross the seas having no valor in their cult, glorifying himself in many ways, 

Replied Angada that cutting heads is not more than an illusion as claimed by your worship of Shiva, a juggler performs the same but never proclaims valor, your infatuation is beyond words,  cease wrangling nay more I am the messenger of Sri Rama, if I were not afraid of insulting Rama I would have wrought this before your eyes, Dashing you on the ground, exterminating your army, laying waste your town, I would have taken away Janaka's daughter with all your wives, 

In mild sports, he turned down the stage set there with mighty worriers to make them realize the truth of his person, a messenger of Sri Rama, he challenged the whole assemble by firmly planting his feet that if any of your mightiest warriors can remove my feet from its place, I Shall forgo Sita as lost wager and Rama will return forthwith,

Angada replied, take care about the words you speak, how can I call that to a man whose pride melted away by the sight of Parshurama, who ran away in fear of Sajastrabahau, sick of you to differentiate between heaven and Baikuntha, bird and the Garuda, Rama and the price, Hanuman and the monkey, 

Hanuman trampling your pride as well your army, waste your gardens setting out your capital on fire and slaying your own son, give up hypocrisy, try to recognize the almighty Lord Rama if you pit yourself against Rama even heavenly trinity cannot save you, this flared up Ravana like blazing fire,

Words of Angada annoyed Ravana, and in fury said, O you little monkey fool by nature, not aware of my being, tell the name of your father you are calling upon our friendship, Angad said I am Son of Vali if you can recall him by name, did you ever meet him, of sure we have do met in past in KishKinda, 

Ravana said, yes I remember a monkey named Vali, ashamed of you that you are his son and acting as messager of a hermit, tell me the whereabouts of Vali, and his wellness, Said Angada, wait for a few days you shall go to Vali soon and embracing your friend personally enquire after his wellness. he will tell you all about the wellness of fellows from hostility with Sri Rama,

Angada said, I am honored to be a messenger of Sri Rama, and to my knowledge, a more messenger visited Lanka a few days back named Hanuman, a monkey if you can recall the doings of that Monkey, Ravana said in a sarcastic tone, money possesses a great virtue, serve his master by dancing here and there is known to the world, 

Furious Angada, a Monkey burnt your city and destroyed your self-respect altogether and beat all your bravos and warriors and reached home safe by alarming you for the worst, yet you are not ashamed, Ravana I know one Ravana who went to nether world to conquer Vali but tied up in the stables by the children, Bali took compassion and released him, was that you, One Ravana was discovered by Sahastrabahu, who captured him as a strange creature brought him home for the sake of fun, on the request of Sage Pulastya got released, I am ashamed to tell you, You was held tight under my father's arms, and he keeps you in his prison  for long, now tell me the truth among these who were you or it was all your traits in past,

As soon as Angada entered the city met one of Ravana's sons named Prahasta, try to intercept Angada, in no time Angada killed him, which raised alarm among all citizens in fear of doing Sri Hanuman a few days ago, 

Is He the same monkey or someone alike, who knows what providence going to take now, everyone thought in exceedingly dismay, guiding the monkey towards the assembly of Ravana,

Very soon Angada reached the gate and sent a message, Ravana laughed and said, Go, usher him in my presence, let us know where the monkey has come upon, Next moment Angada was in front of Ravana thinking of Sri Rama's might bow his head and took the seat of its own creation fearlessly in appearance like a lion, midst of mad elephants,

Ravana asked who are you, and from where, Said Angada I am the messenger of Sri Rama, to my knowledge you and my father were friends, you are from the lineage of virtuous Pulastya that mind-born son of Brahma, you worshipped Shiva in numerous ways and obtained boons but failed to make appropriate application of them, in the delusion of your sick reality in the shadow of kingly ego embodied with infatuation you carried of Sita, mother of the universe, now listen to my friendly advice, put a straw between your row of teeth and an axe by the throat and take all your people including your wives with you, respectfully placing Devi Sita, in this way repair to him shedding all fears thus address him, o protector of a suppliant, save me, save me now, the moment Lord hears your piteous cry will surely rid of you of every fear,

There Rama woke at daybreak summoning all his councilors asked their opinion about the way to proceed from this point, Jambvaan suggested that according to my light, Angada may be sent as an envoy to Ravana to avoid any unforeseen, Merciful Lord turned to Angada, and said I need not to give instructions, I know you are supremely clear to act as per situation, should talk with the enemy in the way as may advance my cause and serve the interest at the same time,

Bowing his head to the lotus feet of lord Angada arose and said, my Lord, he alone is an ocean of virtue, on whom you shower your grace, O divine Rama, all the objects of Lord are self-accomplished, i have honored by the grace of lord by charging with this task, thrilled in body and delighted at heart he departed,

Ravana laughed when he heard the words of his wife, how mighty is the infatuation and it rightly regards the character of a woman, eight evils ever abide in her heart,

Recklessness, mendacity, fickleness, deceit, timidity, indiscretion and callousness, 

You describe the enemy's cosmic form and thus told me a most alarming story but all that is naturally in my under control, me beloved, it is by your grace that it has become clear to me now, that I have come to know your ingenuity, my dear this way you have told my greatness,

Your words, O fawn-eyed lady are profound, they afford delight when understood and dispel and dispel all fear when heard, Mandodary was now convinced at heart that her husband's impending death had deluded him,

My beloved cease hostility with Sri Rama and have more obstinacy in your heart taking him to be a mere mortal, Believe my words That Sri Rama himself is manifested in the form of this universe, and the Vedas conceive of every limb of his a a distinct sphere, 

Subterraining regions are his feet and the abode of Brahma is his head while other spheres are located in his other limbs, terrible death is a mere contraction of his eyebrows, the sun is his eyes and the mass of cloud is his locks, twin born god Ashwani Kumar are his nostrils, alternating days and nights constitute the repeated twinkling of his eyelids, while the quarter of the heavens are his ears, so declared by the Vedas, the wind are his breath and the Vedas, his own speech is the lower lip and Yama the death god is his dreadful teeth, Maya that cosmic illusion is his laughter and regents of the ten quarters, his arms, fire is his mouth and Varun the water is his tongue, while creation, preservation, and destruction of the universe is his gesture, the eighteen principle species of the vegetable kingdom constitute the line of hair on his belly, the mountains are his bones and the rivers represents the network of his veins, the ocean is his belly and the inferno, his organs of urination and excreation, in short, the universe is manifestation of the lord and it is no use going into further details, 

Lord Shiva is his ego, Brahman his reason, the moon his mind, and great Vishnu is his faculty of understanding, is the same Lord Sri Rama, manifested in the form of animate and inanimate creation, who has assumed a human semblance, pondering this, hear me, O my lord of life, cease hostility with Lord Rama, and cultivate devotion to his feet so that my good luck may not desert me,

Sri Rama smiled to listen so, strung his bow and fitted an arrow to the sting, with one shaft alone striking Ravana's umbrella as well as earrings of Mandodary making them fall to the ground before the very eye of all, having performed this starling fear Rama's shaft came back and dropped in his quiver again, 

Everybody was alarmed to see this interruption in his revelry, no earthquake nor strong gust of wind nor did any weapon play any role, was an almost alarming ill omen, fright took place in hearing of all was a distinct strange for Ravana, and anxiety lodged in the heart of Mandodary,

Ravana finds that it is evening and now turns toward the special location of his Palace with a wonder hall to host the most beautiful dancers to charm him, 

Though a most powerful threatening foe at his doorstep he had no anxiety or fear, there Rama encamped on the mount Suvela. a holy peak lofty and supremely lovely, Laxman made all respective arrangements for the Lotd to rest upon, gracious lord rested himself and placed his head on the laps of Sugreeva with his bow and quiver by his side,

Angad and Hanuman kneaded his lotus feet in diverse ways, in the easter quarter, the lion of a moon, an embodiment of supreme grandeur, glory, and strength strutted through the forest of the sky having rent asunder the crown of a mad elephant in the form of the darkness, stars appears like pearls, strew all over the sky, 

Rama thereby asked his fellows what they thought about the spot on the moon, few said demon Rahau struck the moon, and few said the spot is nothing but a scar left on the bosom while created by Brahma, Lord himself said that I thought poison is the most beloved brother of the moon and has given a place in his heart is the shadow from, Said Hanuman, My lord, Moon is your own beloved servant and it is your Image enshrined in his heart that appears as the dark patch,

All your stupid ministers tell you that which is pleasing to their master, but that way you cannot succeed, a stray monkey sprang across the ocean and came to this site, and all people still extolled is doing, What, did none of you having any appetite then, now claiming to feast with coming monkeys and bears, their advice will land you in trouble all the way, these people are simply bragging, 

Dear father listen to me, please do not account me, coward, if he withdraws on receiving back his consort you should have no more quarrel with him, otherwise, face to face meet him on the battlefield and give a tough fight,

If you accept my advice your fair renown will spread throughout the world in either case, that makes Ravana attain fury, Said Ravana who taught such wisdom to you, if have any doubt in your mind get lost, on hearing harsh words Prahasta return to home,

The bear and monkeys regale themselves on the delightful fruits and bulbs there and ran off in all directions to make it known of their presence around and kill many demons and the news reached Ravana,

The moment Ravana heard that the sea had been bridged exclaimed in contemplation at once, What he easily bridged the waves, the billows, the sea, the main, the deep, the brine, the hyaline,

The all-merciful was glad at heart to see it, as the army marched it was a sight beyond all telling, all creatures in the ocean felt strange come on the surface to see the army of Rama, covered by creatures water could not be seen, 

The bridge is overcrowded, and many fall into the ocean and use ocean creatures as their boat to reach that shore, many use the back of the sea monsters to cross the sea, 

Rama and his brother laughed at the sight of the scenario how the army heading to that shore, and they crossed the ocean and reached another shore,

constructed the bridge Ram Setu

 Jai Sri Ram,

Said Rama, again, whosoever address adore the lord in a disinterested spirit and without guile will be blessed by Sankara with devotion to me, and who see the bridge erected by me will be able to cross the ocean of worldly existence without any exertion, 

Sri Rama's words gladdened the hearts of all and great sages returned each in their own hermitage, Said Sankara to Girija, such is the way of the lord of the Raghus, he ever loves those who take refuge in him, 

The cleaver Nala and Neela constructed the bridge and Rama's grace their renown spread far and wide, those very rocks that not only sink themselves but cause even other things to sink along with them floated like so many rafts, this is however, not ascribed to any miraculous power of the ocean, nor to a virtue of the rocks themselves, nor again to any skill of the monkeys, 

It was the might of Sri Rama that rocks floated on the ocean, they are dull-witted indeed, who go worship other than Rama,

Said Rama, an enemy of Shiva although he calls himself a devotee of mine, cannot attain to me even in a dream, 

He who is opposed to Sankara and yet aspires for devotion to me is doomed to perdition, stupid and dull-witted as he is, 

Men, who, though devoted to Sankara, are hostile to me and even so those who are enemies of Shiva but votaries of mine shall have their abode in the most frightful hell till the end of creation, 

They who behold LordRameshwaram will, on quitting the body, go direct to my sphere in heaven, and a man who takes the water of the Ganga and pours it on the Lord will attain liberation in the form of absorption into my being,

NO ONE ELSE IS SO DEAR TO ME AS SHIVA,

Nala and Neela start this divine episode by taking the name of Rama, Jamavant Deploy all monkeys in their respective tasks to support them and, on hearing the command enjoined the task with total submission,  

Formidable monkey troops bring heaps of trees and mountains, and monkeys and bears set forth hu hurrahing and exclaiming, glory to the lord, they would lift gigantic trees and mountains in mere sport and bring them to Nala and Nela, who in their turn carefully set to build the bridge, 

Monkeys brought huge mountains, which were received like play balls by the Nala and Neela, when merciful Rama saw the exceedingly beautiful construction of the bridge at such a pace, he smiled and observed thus, this is a most delightful excellent spot, its glory is immeasurable and cannot be described in words I WILL INSTALL AN EMBLEM OF LORD SHIVA HERE, IT IS CROWIN AMBITION OF MY HEART, 

Hearing this lord of monkeys dispatched the messengers to invite and fetch all great sages, in short all done, having installed an emblem of Lord Shiva with respective ceremonies of Pran Pathista with celestial and sages, the Lord worshiped it like anything in truth with faith and submission, and said NO ONE ELSE IS SO DEAR TO ME AS SHIVA,

On hearing the ocean's words Rama called his counselors, and spoke to them, why delay now, build the bridge, so that the army may cross over,

Said Jamvanta with joined palms, your name itself, Lord, is a bridge by ascending which men cross over the ocean of mundane existence, 

It will take no time to cross this insignificant sea, hearing this, the son of the wind god added. my lord's glory is a great submarine fire that had long since sucked up the water of the ocean, 

But it was filled again by the flood of tears shed by your enemies' wives, that is how it comes to salty in taste, all gazed on Rama, Rama smiled, Jambvan called Nal and Neel and related to them the whole story,

Sages and seers of the ages and eons have elaborated the truth of the day in the light of their penance and indicated through many aspects that adoration of the day could be a milestone to recover from the calamities and enemies of the eternal, self in the journey of life,

Adoration of the day may help devotees gauge the needs both ways for meaningful expression of the journey in truth with self,

Adore Sri Rama, the supreme deity, the object of worship even of Shiva, the destroyer of cupid and dispeller of the fear of birth and rebirth, the lion to quell the mad elephant in the form of death, attainable through immediate knowledge, the storehouse of good qualities, unquenchable, attributeless, immutable, beyond the realms of Maya, lord of celestials, intent on killing the evildoers, the only protector of the Brahmanas, beautiful as cloud laden with moisture, who has lotus like eyes and appeared in the form of an earthly king, 

Glorify the Shankara, the lord of Kashi, the consort of Girija, the storehouse of good qualities, the destroyer of cupid, worthy of all praise, shining like a conch shell or the moon, most handsome of person, clad in a tiger's skin, decked with dreadful ornaments in the shape of deadly serpents, fond of the Ganga, and the Moon, the allayer of the sins of the kali age and the celestial tree yielding the fruit of blessedness for the mere asking, 

May Lord Shambhu, the bestower of blessings, who confers on the virtuous even final beatitude, which is difficult to obtain and who punishes the evil doers, extend his blessings to me,

O my soul, who do you not worship Sri Rama, who has the indivisible time for his bow and the various divisions of time such as a Paramanu, a twinkling, a moment, a year, an age, and a cycle for his fierce arrows,

The god presiding over the ocean clasped the feet of the Lord in dismay and Said, Forgive, Lord all my faults, ETHER, AIR, WATER, AND EARTH, all are dull by nature it is Your Maya that brought them for the purpose of creation under impulse from you, so declared by the scripture, 

One would attain happiness only by remaining where he has been placed by my lord, my lord has done well in giving me a lesson, but you have fixed a certain limit for everyone, a drum, a Sudra, a beast, and a woman, all these deserve your instruction, by the glory of Lord I shall dried up and the army will cross over but this will bring no credit to me, your command however is inevitable thus declare by Vedas, I shall do at once what pleases you,

On hearing his most submissive words the all-merciful smiled and said, tell me dear father, some device whereby the monkey host may cross over, He Siad, my lord, two monkey brothers in your army Nila and Nala, got a boon in their childhood from a sage, touched by them even huge mountain will float on the ocean by your glory, have ocean bridged so that your glorious achievement may be sung in all the sphere of creation, with this bow, my lord, exterminate the inhabiting my north coast, on hearing this Rama immediately relieved the agony of the ocean's heart, the god presiding over the ocean was rejoiced and gratified to witness Sri Rama's astounding might and valor, bowing his head, he took leave,

The god presiding over the ocean left for his home, this episode may wipe out the impurities of Kali age, the excellences of Rama are an abode of delight, a panacea for all doubt and unfalling remedy for sorrow,, therefore giving up all other hope and faith, ever sing and hear them, O Manasa,

Three days elapsed, and the crass ocean would not answer the prayer of Rama, Sri Rama thereupon indignantly said, there can be no friendship without fear, Laxman bring me my bow and arrows, I will dry up the ocean with a missile presided over by the god of fire, 

Supplication before an idiot, friendship with a rough, inculcating liberality on a born miser, talking wisdom to one steeped in worldliness, glorifying dispassion before a man of excessive greed, a lecture of mind control to an irascible man and a discourse on the exploit of Sri Hari to a libidinous person are as futile as sowing seeds in a barren land, 

So saying lord strung his bow and fitted an arrow, this charmed the Laxman but a blazing fire broke out in the heart of the ocean, all creatures in the ocean faced the heat beyond bearing capacity making the presiding deity of the ocean give up his pride, and manifest in the form of a Brahman with a gold plate filled with precious gems before Rama,

Though One may take infinite pains in watering a plantain it will not bear fruits unless it is hewed, similarly, mark me O king of birds, Continued Kakabhushandi to Garuda, vile heed no prayer but yields only when reprimanded,

turns demon by the curse of sage

 Jai Sri Ram,

Spies relate the reality to Ravana that there are so many monkeys and bears there and they are born warriors and truth of infinite might that roared to devour Lanka and above all they have on their head Rama,

Then they read the message sent by Laxman to Ravana, O fool do not bring your race to utter ruin, you will not spared even though you seek the protection of Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva, 

Therefore abandoning pride like your brother either seek the lotus feet of the lord or be consumed with your family like a moth into the fire of Sri Rama's shaft, this made Ravana dismayed at heart lastly spies request him to return Sita to Rama for his own welfare,

This makes Ravana furious beyond all horizon and he kicks the spy and discards him at once, the Spy named Suka bows his head to Ravana and proceeds to Rama thereby making obeisance in his lotus feet and returns to his hermitage, was a saint who turns demon by the curse of sage August,

As soon as Vibhishan proceeded towards Rama, Ravana sent spies after him, assuming the false appearance of monkeys they witnessed all the doings of Rama, praised eternally, and openly commenced applauding Sri Rama's amiability, in the intensity of their emotions they forgot to maintain their disguise,

Recognized in their own form monkeys caught hold of them and bring to Laxman, they sought refuge in Rama and praised Rama as well, Laxman rescued them from the monkeys and sent them back with a message to Ravana, 

Covey to the fool my words a generous message for him, Surrender Sita and make peace or your awaits you, bowing their heads spies returned to Ravana and related the whole episode unto the truth of Rama and refuge of Vibhishna in his mercy,

They praise the glory of Rama which makes Ravana furious, and then they reveal the truth of warriors on that side with their immeasurable might and velour, and the story of how Rama made Vibhishan the king of Lanka by putting a mark of sovereignty on his forehead,

Said Vibhishan, my Lord, presiding deity over the ocean is an ancestor of yours,

He will Think over the question and suggest some means of crossing the ocean,

The whole host of bears and monkeys will thus be able to cross the ocean without much ado,

Said Rama, friend, you have suggested an excellent plan, let us try it, if providence helps it, this did not find any favor from Laxman, Rama said to Laxman ease your mind, and went to the seashore, first bowed his head and greeted then, took the seat thereupon, and start his prayer,

Recognizing Vibhishan as his own man Rama accepted him in his service, the amiability of his disposition gladdened the heart of the whole monkey host, 

Then all-wise, who dwells in the heart of all, is manifest in all with a specific motive and as the exterminator of the demons race, spoke words strictly observing the rules of decorum, 

Listen O Lord, listen of Lord of Monkeys and O valiant sovereign of Lanka, how to cross the deep ocean full of alligators, snakes, and all varieties of fishes unfathomable and difficult to cross, 

Said Vibhishan, Lord, although your arrow itself can dry up innumerable oceans, propriety demands that you should approach the ocean and request the deity presiding over it,

Fanned to fury by his own breath

 Jai Sri Ram,

Thus did the Lord Rama save Vibhishan from being consumed by the fire of Ravana's wrath,

Fanned to fury by his own breath and bestowed on him unbroken sovereignty, 

Rama conferred on Vibhishan with much difference the same fortune Lord Shiva had bestowed on Ravana after the latter had offered his ten heads to him in a sacrifice,

Those who worship anyone else, giving up such a benign lord, are mere beasts without a tail, and a pair of horns,

Said Vibhishan, Listen, my Lord, ruler of the whole creation, animate and inanimate, protector of suppliant and knower of all, hearts, 

I did have some lurking desire in my heart before, but the same has been washed away by the stream of devotion to your feet, 

Now, my gracious Lord, grant me such pure devotion to your lotus feet as that which gladdened Shiva's heart,

So be it, replied the Lord, staunch in the fight, and immediately asked for the water of the sea, even though, my friend, you have no craving, my sight in the world never fails to bring its reward, so saying, Sri Rama applied on his forehead the sacred mark of sovereignty and a copious shower of flowers rained down from the heavens,

Those men who worship my personal form, are intent on doing good to others, firmly tread the path of righteousness, and are steadfast in their vow and devoted to the feet of Brahmanas are dear to me as life,

Listen, O King of Lanka, you possess all the above virtues, hence you are extremely dear to me, 

On hearing the words of Rama all the assembled monkeys exclaimed, Glory to all merciful,

Vibhishan's eagerness to hear the lord's speech which was all nectar to his eras, knew no satiety, he clasped the lotus feet of Rama again and again and his heart bursting with boundless joy,

The ties of affection that bind a man to his mother, father, brother, son, wife, body, wealth, house, friends, and relations are like so many threads that a pious soul gathers up and twists into a string wherewith he binds his soul to my feet,

He looks upon all with the same eye and has no craving and his mind is free from joy, grief, and fear, 

A saint of this description abides in my heart even as mammon resides in the heart of a covetous man, 

Only saints of your type are dear to me, for the sake of none else do I body myself forth,
